Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

We laughed at fate and mourned her;

It is both an amazing and terrifying thing to be alone as your mind unravels and exposes locked away memories. Cold azure eyes seemed eerily focused on the dark waters of the lake. This winter’s night seemed so serine with the cold winds rolling through the fields and hardly a soul was out during this time of night. Without her stalker lingering within the shadows the ghastly creature enjoyed this momentarily rare chance of being alone. Yet why she felt so restless without him around she simply could not understand. It had been a long time since she felt so sensitive about being alone. Unable to figure this particular problem out she allowed herself to fall and travel down memory lane, the river providing a sort of pensieve. Within the water her ghastly reflection was replaced with a much younger version of herself, her pelt carrying no traces of blemishes. It had been eons since she last saw her face without the claw marks, her face would have looked like Raven’s except for the crimson diamond mark on her forehead. How she became the terrifying looking creature today took years of torment and struggle, but she overcame them. Her entire frame would grow steadily still and only the movement of her chest from her soft breathing gave signs that she was still alive.

Her mind had unraveled until it found what her conscious was looking for. Within the water she found her smaller version of herself being chased by members of her own pack, their snarls only encouraged her to run faster. Being ran out of her home left her empty, scared, and alone. The older wolf could actually feel the torment and agonizing pain of being alone start to creep up on her as it settled in her stomach. It was not natural for a wolf so young to be on their own, let alone fend for themselves from the possible dangers, and yet somehow she made it. Eyes would close for a moment as she forced that painful memory away, but the pain she felt would not disappear. Now that she knew her soul was chained to another it was natural for her to actually want to be close to him. Yet she could not bring herself to actually go to him, believing it would cause her harm than good. Nothing good ever came to being close with another wolf, the lupine far too driven to be alone, working against her instincts that screamed at her to give in. It was the sound of heavy paw prints that caught her attention, eyes slowly reopened to see a gangly male approaching her in a cautious manner. Ebony hackles bristled as he got closer not too pleased that he was here ruining her alone time.

Silently she watched his gangly limbs carry his smaller, lighter colored frame, up a boulder. The very idea that he was creating not one but two barriers was actually quite a smart thing to do. Unfortunately for him neither barrier was capable of holding her back. Quietly she lifted herself from the ground and moved forward through the cold unfrozen river, the very shock of the cold water hardly made her flinch, as her cold sapphire eyes narrowed on the boy as he spoke. His innocent question caused her black lips to unsheathe her daggers finding his question far too personal. She worked hard to keep herself away from Tobias and that this complete stranger inquired about this personal matter was unacceptable. He would get no response whether she was looking for him or not. What she did was no one’s business, but her own. Grey-trimmed ears twitched back and forth as she stalked towards the wolf that sat upon his boulder. As her paws reached the river bank she would grow still as her head raised slightly catching a familiar old scent on his pelt. His voice sounded muffled as her mind formulated just why she knew that scent, for some reason her daughter had been near this male, and that didn’t sit well with her at all. Soft and cold lyrics trickled out from her scarred muzzle as she took control of the conversation.

“You have her scent…why was Raven near you?”

She may have abandoned her child and left her in Iromar, but that didn’t mean she could be protective over her own flesh and blood.
