The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

It wasn't nature that drives him to be helpful, not really. It was the nurture issue rearing it's head here, because what drives him is the want to be accepted, to be included back into the pack of his birth, to be near family again. His childhood had been rough and the years after not a whole lot better, so he strives to be helpful because it gives him more worth, and because thopse of worth are not so often shunned. Solitaire had enough of being shunned, though he has never actually found out the reason in which that had happened to him. He had never gotten to ask why he had been ignored and not allowed within the pack when he had returned as a yearling.

That day had given him more self confidence issues, if he didn't have enough of them previous to those hours. Of course it did not mean that Solitaire was opposed to being helpful, because he understood what it meant to be wounded and sick, and it was a good thing to be a healer, to be of some help to others. Even for someone random not within the pack, like now, with the acceptance of the idea to look at Malleah's leg wound. She speaks of moving to where there was more light, and so Solitaire grabs his moss-filled log and follows along to where she is bringing them. He notes the way she looks back at him, but he doesn't show his nerves at being inspected, he just glances to the side.

When she pauses and speak, he sets down the log and smiles a little before she turned to show him the leg wound. He does take a look, studying the shape and depth of it, the color and puffy parts. When she speaks again he blinks and looks up at her. "Unless it was pretty recent, I don't think so. Signs would have shown up over a few days. It does look like it's infected, though. Thyme and Witch Hazel can be used to help with it, or eat some Ginger, though I don't have any here." It's almost apologetic when he says it, but he had come here to gather things rather than bring stuff from one place to another. But he had pointed her in the right direction, at least.
