The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

PARAVANA

The world is quite other than the sounds of the natural rain, pitter pattering against the cold rock ahead of here. The ground had worn down from the many rains that had occurred over time, the earth giving way to constant and forever change. She looked at it quietly and curiously with her slender head, looking up at the green plants that did dribble down into the hole in the ceiling of the grotto. She was quite taken with this spot, even as she hears the growl of thunder only growing more and more angry and ominous as the storm begins to foam into a rage.

Her dark ears flicker when she is triggered onto something that is not so storm like. It had not particularly occurred to her that someone else of the lupine kind would seek shelter from the rain in the same spot. She was perhaps hoping for some time alone, to spend with her own soul in this peaceful perfection, if only for a few more moments. But it was not to be. Her delicate head twists slightly, rainbow eyes popping through the darkened eye shadow of an almost black that surrounded them. They locked with the silvers of Underidge as he looks upon her, and she finds her head flowing back a bit as she observes him. She determines he is about her age, but certainly nothing like she had seen before. She had met few that were not from her home of Diveen. There was a different type of...air to him, almost like he had brought the storm that had come here himself. He grunts and moves across to the other side of the wall, and she does feel her dark hackles and even down to her goldens tensing due to the unknown nature of the water-touched encounter.

She does not speak quite yet, her nature much like her mothers, a bit of the shy and quiet type. She also had two rowdy brothers, and although she could keep up, her voice always seemed to be drowned out unless she sung. No one so far could seem to resist her singing. Her eyes had found themselves looking at the rain falling in, until he speaks and they snap back over to him. She tilts her gold-smudged head slightly at his comment.

"What would life be if...it were always the same? If there was only sun and no rain to feed the rivers?" she says with her naturally alluring and sweet voice, interrupted by the scream of the sky that echoes throughout the grotto in clash and rumble. The interior of the grotto is darkened with the thick cloud cover and yet is lit wildly with the increasing lightly, that seemed to flashing more and more often now. It was...magical really, and her lips do pull back slightly in a sly grin.

"Your must admit there is a certain power in the sky now, yes?" she asks, looking back up at the opening, the light illuminating her form and reflecting the many hues of her eyes. Drops of water still touched her fur, as beads upon the tips of each guard hair to prevented her skin from turning too wet.
