I was quick to make my return to my pack, long limbs leaping easily over the fallen debris and rocky outcrops of the loner lands, earthen and golden form moving with effortless fleetness towards the boundaries of Asteraia, the home I had chosen for myself, a grin of sorts finding my features in the contentment that came from finding my paws back within my homeland once more as I let a call for Mistress Jaidah part my lips, summoning her presence now that my task was completed. She had wanted to know about Tobias- so I had found out. Pretty brave of me if I do say so myself, I nearly gotten eaten by that….thing with the marked face. Like I said though, no one can outrun me, it’s my talent, my skill- apart from my trusting features and I had done just as I was asked, tail waving in momentary pleasure as I waited for Jaidah- pleased to tell her what had been achieved in my travels. I wonder, often, if Father would be proud of such a thing. Maybe my task to find out about Tobias had not been strictly academic in nature but I had still done something, still achieved something. Maybe it was juvenile to feel a need for his approval, I suppose I never really did care what he thought all to much. After all, I will always love my parents even if they do not believe me to be as intelligent as my sister. I would show them, in time. I would show them exactly what I could be.
I moved to seat myself as the gold of my eyes moved to rest upon my approaching Queen, tail waving in greeting as I let my eyes lay back in momentary respect for his dominance, waiting for her to either take a seat before myself or find somewhere comfortable to stand before I spoke- evident excitement moving within my ungainly, scruffy, skinny form as I cast a single look back over my shoulder to make sure that grey and black girl wasn’t following me secretly and I just hadn’t noticed. I think I’d fail my task if I led her back here after all.
“I completed the task you asked of me, I did.”
I sat up a little straighter, clearly pleased with myself, probably offering a little too much enthusiasm but really, it is the first ever task I have been given, let alone actually completed and I was sure the information I had was good, if not useful. I even had a plan to go with it- though I am not entirely sure that is my job. Maybe I’ll ask her if she wants to hear that.
“I found out about the wolf you want to have, Tobias. I found a weakness- if you will, a way that maybe we can at least get him to come. Keeping him will have to be up to you, but I think I have information on that too, would you like to hear it?”
Well- I assumed she still wanted to have and keep this Tobias fellow, my head tilting slightly all the same as another thought came to my mind.
“If you don’t mind me asking, why do you want this Tobias anyway? He’s not really all that nice and he might eat you, or me, or someone else, aren’t you scared?”
