Covet watched her movements like a hawk, inspecting, he supposed, for some kind of weakness of form, but he did not see any thus far. She was laying down, after all, so he could not assess as well as if she were standing up and moving around. Not that it muched mattered to him right now, of course. Yet she did sit up, and shook before looking at him. He was indeed fascinated with the red splotches, and for various reasons that were starting to make more sense within his mind. Not that he needed to really give it any thought now; not really practical at this point in time.

But he was still interested anyway, no matter if it was in a shallow physical sense. At least he was talking to her, getting to know more about her in his own way. That was something, how it worked, right? Covet wasn't really big on knowing this sort of thing. Wasn't much of a reason for him to be, honestly. And there would always be past traumas to contend with, though Covet tried to push aside the issues he'd had in the past to simply live in what was current. Unless the past was brought up, and who knows then? If he did ever find the killers of Cobryn and Enigma, he would pursure them. Other things maybe not so much.

Yet what was there really to do on the other losses? It was far to late to make amends to those who didn't know the whole story, and because he knew what it was like to be abandoned, he figured that would have been the thought process of the pups kept from him. To grow up like that.. It was over before it began, so he would be able to do nothing. When she speaks, asks him a question and takes him from those thoughts, he doesn't hesitate in his response; "We would no longer be having a conversation." It was stated evenly, openly. That should say all it needed to.
