These children were beautiful devils. They had sucked her dry of every bit of life that she had clung to when they were born and now the recovery was hellish. The intense amount of bleeding had left her anemic and while it had already been a few weeks since their birth date, she is still feeling the effects of the loss. Her gums have paled and she is often too fatigued to even hunt with Elijah and so she stays with the whelps when it ails her. The recent turnover within Diveen has her newly formed family on the move, once again in her lifetime, to another place to claim as their own. Stella has very little preference other than to be somewhere that she will not have to worry about bowing to another; alpha or not. It is not in her blood and she refuses to ever do so.

She was lenient and comfortable with Kane but no other will be accepted in such a manner. Even as they travel from Diveen and toward the open hills of the coastal pack she feels herself growing very weary, her mind fuzzy and spinning. But she is stubborn and will not let her children know of her illness nor will she allow Elijah to know if he is not observant enough; though she doubts that he will miss the symptoms. It wasn’t nearly as far of a journey as it would have been to go back to her original den amongst the crags and yet when they pass into Asteraia’s borders she feels herself ready to collapse. It only takes the tugging of Ilias’ tiny milk teeth at one of her teats to urge her toward the ground so that the leeches may suckle more life from her.

Elijah has turned away as he looks out across the fields and perhaps it is in this moment that Stella feels at her lowest. ”Our offspring weaken me. What strength I have given them… they will not return any.” she murmurs as she rests now with one whelp greedily suckling. She is content to reside her as long as she is not challenged and her pups are not harmed. The scent of the alpha is not a strong as most packs are and perhaps that means it has been broken thus leaving a vast area to roam for their liking. This is all fine with the recovering mother.

It is only in this weakened haze that she does not realize her second born child is missing and will not know so until she is able enough to rise to her paws once more. For now, she is blissfully unaware of such things and recharges her energy while they linger near the boulders.
