I never had any real intention of staying in Diveen when it was owned by my Aunt and Uncle, I adored them of course, it is an unwritten rule I suppose that family is morally obligated to adore and yet my sights had always been upon other lands and still were. As it was my plans had merely been delayed a little by this change in leadership and my need to maintain a specific form of contact with this new Alpha. What was the sense in purposeless action? Someone I respected greatly once taught me that, that anything with no purpose is waited, make each and every action count- so I would. I chose to stay within Diveen not because my Mother and siblings stayed, though I am content enough in their company and glad for it. I stayed because I have reasons my own, because in time they will see my purpose and perhaps…they will not like it- but for a long time I have known exactly what it is I must do. I have a plan I suppose, one due to be put in motion. Maybe I was young, maybe it wouldn’t work entirely as I anticipated and yet really, I have a way of turning the cards in my favour and if any are foolish enough to underestimate me simply because of age….then let them. It is ever so easy to be underestimated and ever so amusing to see the look of awe in the faces of others when it occurs.

Right now however the look upon my features was not exactly what I would call awe, in fact it was something between bemusement, humour and a ort of awkward wariness. What that looks like I hardly know (though surely it was attractive all the same) and I wondered towards this call to meeting that only my little sister had apparently seen fit to answer. For her alone I managed a smile, form of white and silver pacing forward to allow my shoulder to brush against her in a moment of comfort, lip quirking upward into a crooked grin to reassure her as any brother should before I allowed my attention to roll lazily towards….whatever is name was. Am I supposed to know? I suppose it would be unusual if he went around saying it although really without an introduction I suppose I was simply going to have to refer to him by his title. The Huffy King. It’s a thing, an unfortunate thing at that, to be known by such a name. Heyel was The Assassin King, Isola The Brightest Angel, Devil The Undefeated King- I have even been told of the title’s of others who existed outside Diveen, The Guardian King, The Demon King even The Jester King….The Huffy King….didn’t really have much of a ring to it, even the Tantrum King would have been a little better I suppose though not wholly flattering and yet I suppose if your reasons for war are merely that two boys upset you that was as good a name as any to reflect your…er…delicate personality. I wonder if I should tell him of his newly awarded title- then again, I rather saw no need to upset the fellow- yet. He didn’t seem to handle being upset all that well. Maybe he had a hard life, maybe others called him names as a child I can hardly say. It didn’t matter in the end I suppose, such things irrelevant now.

“Hyrule.”

I offered my name all the same as I moved to sit to the side of my sister whom seemed to be staring in some sort of mock terror at what I can only presume is supposed to be this fellow’s face. I attempted to supress the grimace that fought it’s way onto my silver-hued white features, this new Alpha seeming to have attempted to….put mud on himself or leaves or…something. If this was the new look I am entirely assured I will be buking the trend this season, the mere thought of….mud assailing my otherwise pristine form very near shudder inducing and yet I managed a grin all the same. I am sure he knows how he looks and I really see no success in pointing it out further though indeed my handsome head inclined to my sister all the same, words just loud enough for she alone to hear.

“Forte verum est politicum dixerit” (Maybe it is a political statement)

I smirked slightly, just for her, attempting to draw out her confidence a little. What? Maybe it was. Maybe he was going for a ‘I don’t have to be pretty like to be a King thing’ I am honestly not sure and yet it is wholly….unbecoming. It was true to extent I suppose, although pretty really did help. I let my attention return to him once more, violet eyes resting upon his own as I took a moment to stretch, each limb loosening beneath the snow of my pelt.

“Forgive me for the….bluntness of my question, but really, I do feel so very many of us would like to know what exactly Guardian and Achilles did to you that so prompted your decision to remove actually useful members from this pack? Achilles would never have stayed but Guardian I am rather sure would have and given the….astounding numbers you seem to have amassed would it not have been wiser to not drive away one of our best warriors?”

He is King isn’t he? Let’s see how diplomatic he can be, let’s see him answer for what he has done. If he is King then I see no reason why he cannot prove it and simply some of his skills for diplomacy- one eye lifting slightly to wait for a reply. Maybe it was blunt, maybe I was out of line but someone has to ask and if he is foolish enough to so rudeness instead of intelligence then so be it. If I have offered him my allegiance I want to be sure he deserves it.

“Wait!”

Whatever he had been about to say was abruptly cut off as I lifted to my paws and strode suddenly forward and towards him, pausing before the older male now, head tilting momentarily before one paw lifted to press at the fur of his forehead, using what remained of the sticky blood upon it to attempt to sweep his fur sideways a little and slightly over what was clearly a rather damaged eye before stepping back to examine my work. I was going to have to sanitize my foot now….

“I…may have made it worse although you are slightly less lopsided now. At least others will only see your hair now as opposed to your eye.”

Wolves hardly put enough effort into public relations these days…. What? He can’t walk around with a swollen, foul looking eye now can he? Having himself a little fringe didn’t make him look silly at all….not even a bit, my smile remaining perfectly serene. At least I tired.
