The healing has been slow since the battle with Covet but at least I can finally breathe a little easier. I still can't laugh or even chuckle without extreme agony and I still mostly tuck my body when I walk. My neck wound is already closing and my chest wound is still pretty bruised but also closing. Overall I think I'll get over this with some long lasting pain but my ego is probably a lot more wounded. I hate the thought of losing the pack we've had since the meteor crash and the only home besides Trenus and Paracon most of us have ever known. I hate it more for the other wolves who chose to come with us more than anything.

But today is not about feeling sorry for myself. I'm really trying to stop doing that. I need to get over this and admit that this is the retirement Isola and I were planning on having anyway. I guess I just didn't expect it to come so suddenly. But now Achilles is going to be the one in charge and I know he's more than ready. I just hope Vega is ready for the task herself. She's always seemed so soft spoken but then Isola was an amazing queen and they have the same pure heart. I bet Vega will be just as good at it. I limp toward the den I heard Pan is staying in, calling out once I get close. "Pan, are you home? I've come for that discussion you were talking about."
