The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

In some ways, Solitaire figured that things were without pressure for either of them when he made certain of his position of not wanting to flirt, and for his own personal reasons. Malleah was eyesome, he supposed, but that sort of thing was far from him mind whenever he could shove it away. Which, thankfully, was most of the time. He was pretty unassuming about most things of that nature, because he knew what it was like to be under that kind of pressure, and he hadn't been fond of it back then and tended to avoid it all now. It had given him a fear of females for a long while, and he was still nervous around most of them. This seemed to be almost embedded into who he now was. He was honestly okay with that, though.

Thing was, if all Malleah wanted for the Winter was provided food and warmth, Solitaire might actually offer that without asking for anything at all. She knew his stance on things, and she was quite tiny and that made him concerned all on its own over the matter. Yet she had survived last Winter well enough, and he was sure she could do it again. He did not need to know how, really. And he was happy enough with the way things were, though he wasn't perfectly sure if it would send the wrong message to keep visiting her now that she was healed. Solitaire wasn't perfectly sure on what the customs were for that sort of thing, not yet. He often shied away from anything to do with that subject as it was, which may or may not make things worse for him..

Solitaire did not know how well he would do against most wolves in a serious setting when it came to a fight, but he did know that Sinclair said he had some natural ability to him, though being an all-rounder might not be such a good thing. And he couldn't really use his weight to his advantage. Solitaire figured that Sinclair knew what he was talking about, and was glad for at least that lesson in fighting, if only to have a better idea how to defend himself or his family if need be. Or his place within his pack, if ever it came to that. He hoped that it never would, but packs changed paws often enough that he had to be prepared if ever that happened within Glorall. He would not lose his home, not again. He would not allow such a thing.

He is amused by her offer to find other injured wolves for him, if only for a free meal in return to her. There's a light laugh and a shake of his head. "If you come across one you can let me know, sure. But I can help you out with meals anyway. Being packless can be hard; I understand that." He responded lightly, smiling at her. He didn't want to bring up her size and where it might be difficult for her in some ways concerning hunting, but he didn't overlook it, either. As for how proud he was of his new title, Solitaire couldn't help it. He had worked hard to be noted in the pack, to seem like a worthy member of Gloral so fault might be less apt to be found with him. Less likely to get kicked out if he was helpful and ranked.

And he was pleased by Malleah's words about him, because they were about anything physical; they were about his position and his hard work to earn it. Solitaire liked Malleah even more for it, and was warming up to the friendship idea, female or not. As for it being busy.. "Not so much right now. It's calm at the moment, but it can sometimes get busy." He said thoughtfully. Not much had been going on within the pack lately.. Then she was asking him to go look at her den, and by her words of expert opinion, he figured that maybe she had made a storage area for healing plants for him to eyeball. Either way, he was following her with a curious gaze. It would be good to know where exactly to drop off the food, anyway.
