The trees called to her, but perhaps any dense foliage would. She liked the touch of the leaves and twigs along her sides as she moved through these types of areas, though she supposes that she rather liked long stretches of flatland to really run. The kind of full out running that made her feel like some other type of being with the wind in her fur. Maybe the hot and cold interests made her a bit fickle, but the cover of trees would probably win out over the two. A forest could be a right obstacle course, and this was something Raptor enjoyed to an immense amount. She had a sense of adventure about her, but she could snap back to being serious in a heartbeat.

It took nothing for her to change moods in seconds if that was what the situation called for, and in everything survival ruled supreme with Raptor. She would cast a critical eye on anyone who came close that she did not know, and in this new land she knew no one save her mother. She had parted ways with Lex for only a brief period of time, gaining her own insights on her surroundings at her own pace. This way there was no discrepancy on this initial view of this place and all within it. A fresh outlook on everything to deal with it in her own way, apart from the emotions and vibes that radiated from her mother. This had to be about her views on the world, if only for a little bit.

Part of a hunting pair or not, she was her own being and needed these minutes to take note of her own reactions to circumstances devoid of her mother. Raptor could not know when Lex might send her away on her own, but it would be good to have an idea on what she was capable by herself now when her mother was still nearby to call out to if need be. She paused to sniff the air for a moment before proceeding along through the woodlands, curving her body along a tree to scratch an itch at the back of her neck as she moved smoothly onward. She was vaguely aware that this would be considered home for the oncoming Winter, storing it within her mind in case she saw a denning area as she traveled; eyes calculating on everything she passed by.
