((Iz quite good. ^__^ hunting not neccessary as a scenario! No pressure on Nim! ;) ))

"Ah!" Madeline exclaimed, more in surprise than upset, and reached out to steady herself against the polar bear who lurked (as much as a bear can) in the shadowy edges of the hallway. When she was certain her slippered feet were solidly on the ground, Madeline released her handful of white fur and tried to make eye contact with the other fairy.

A warm smile played at the edge of Madeline's rosy lips as she waited for the other woman to speak again, but nothing else came after, "I am so sorry." Instead of letting this encounter end, Madeline was determined to get a few more sentences from the other fairy. Madeline had been lonely lately, and though she had tried to make her way into a few of the pre-existing social circles, many of her best attempts had been shut down. As she was feeling rebellious this Sunday, it rather went hand-in-hand that she try again at being boldly friendly with someone new.

"No need, I mean, your apology is accepted of course, but I'm perfectly alright. I imagine, mmm..." Madeline gestured with a pale white hand over her shoulder, down the path toward the high-arched double door entry to the library. "Are you headed to the library then? I came from there myself, a few minutes ago. The sun's risen and the room is marvelously aglow in golden rays of light. You couldn't really ask for better lighting to read by." A quick breath, and a subtle change in stance so that Madeline was blocking more of the hall and wide though the hall was, it would be harder to get around her.

"My name is Madeline, I'm the housekeeper, but that's only to pay for my stay here. I'm really rather desperately waiting for the court to return. I've only been here a few weeks, you see." Madeline didn't bother to explain how she figured a housekeeper could rise to the ranks of lady-in-waiting. "The giant bear here, that is Nanook, my familiar. She's mighty in size but quite gentle in spirit." Madeline was over-eagerly pushing now, trying to see if the other fairy would respond to any of her conversation starting threads. She knew it all sounded forced, and Madeline knew the art of conversation by rote but the art of conversation allowed for the other parties to duck out if they didn't want to converse and that was the last thing Madeline wanted.
