Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Riot knew more about what had happened with Diveen than he really wanted to, only if because he had been asked to meet with Covet, and who he found out to be his uncle. Between the two, Riot had gotten the details, and he honestly wasn't sure what to make of the entire thing. He didn't exactly disagree with it for what it was and how it was done -- he was far too practical for that -- but he could see where some of the holes might be in the situation, and he also knew that things could get much more ugly as time passed. Right now, he could only hope that Iromar was left alone with the changes he knew had to eventually come. Riot had been firm on his stance that his place was in Iromar with Aithne as his alpha, and his loyalty belonged there and in no other place. That was why he had not gone to put any kind of claim to Diveen, though he felt the chances would have been in his favor if he had done so. Blood seemed to be a big thing for Covet.

Yet most of the family had not bothered to try, only one had, from what he'd been told. Dieloch, a half brother. Now this was something that perhaps he could look into later, because well, if Solitaire did not seem so bad, maybe it was only Covet that was a problem. Still, Riot was not interested in getting to deep into any of that family stuff, because it was traumatizing and daunting, and Riot simply wanted to live his own life without the problems caused by the blood running through his veins. Though.. he had to admit that at least Covet was trying, right? Not really pushing, but opening up doors to other family.. Riot had forgotten that he had wanted those things once upon a time. And he was not sure he still did, or if he could ever trust enough to allow himself to really be a part of anything that they were. He isn't sure what is going to happen as time goes by -- he wasn't given details on any of that -- but he does know that things would probably start heating up again soon.

This made him cautious, and pretty down in many ways. Which was why the swim was what he thought he needed most. To just let everything drift away and pretend things were how they used to be; with no ties to hold him down save for Iromar. Riot couldn't say if there were any beginnings of ties being made elsewhere, and he didn't think it was a good idea to allow such things as it was. Yet he was a part of something if he wanted to be. He wished he did not have to make any of these choices. He did not need this kind of confusion and complication in his life. He wanted nothing to get in the way of him working his way up to a rank below Aithne's. That was the goal; that was when he could finish putting together the pieces of his life. To think of things he had long pushed to the back of his mind. He had promised himself that he would do nothing but work towards this goal until it was completed, and he meant to hold by that. So far so good, if nothing got in the way.

Riot almost missed the fact that someone was coming closer, and hadn't noticed it until the female was close to the edge of the water as it was. She had a smile, so she probably wasn't going to attack him (he'd been more nervous of this kind of thing since finding out who both parents were and the shit both of them seemed to have done), and he wondered if he looked tense the moment he had seen her there. Riot wasn't trying to be rude at all, and hoped if she had seen it, she did not take it as a bad sign. He wanted no bad confrontations today, he just wanted some sort of peace. If she just wanted to take a dip in the water near him, then he certainly wouldn't mind as long as she stayed friendly. His ears flicked forth and he tried a small smile for her and nodded at her words. "I think so, yes." He responded evenly, leaning a shoulder into the water to let the waves wash over it. "It's soothing, and sometimes that's needed." He adds, half to himself. Life could be terribly stressful at times..
