Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Wild, always, but yes, being so feral was new. The result of a year spent with no protection and little reason to trust those in her midst. She was not as well groomed as she had once been, paws muddy with both earth and dried blood. She had tufts of fur where she had gotten into scuffles she clearly escaped from with as little damage as might be managed as a two year old loner.

Her brother followed her inside, then, and it was a little confusing to smell someone else so collectedly within the walls of her little den. It left her legs a little stiff and her ears to the sides in discomfort save for when she looks at him truly in the safety of what is now her home. “I kept looking, for anyone. Isolde, mother, father, they're... I don't know where they are. So much has happened, I- I didn't want to go to Taviora because I thought that maybe I'd... have a better chance of finding you out here.”

The sound of her sister’s name perks her ears before they flatten for the rest of the worry. The worry that the whole of their family was scattered to the winds-- and their deaths. How did she tell him what she had heard among the voices of those who wander the freelands? “I do not know about Isolde, but I had heard… I heard father and mother had passed… And then strangers patrolled Asteraia… I thought the worst...” She admits, leaving out that she had heard also that there was not death to be had for all her family, but that she had wanted to free him. It seemed cruel now that he had sought her at the detriment to his condition.

“Where... where did you go? I was worried about you, you were sick and I thought that maybe...”

It was a question she feared, but could not do any less than face head on. He deserved at least that much. “I heard that Asteraia was gone for us, I worried you would try to stay for my sake… I thought you would go to Taviora, Vis!” She scolded again, discomfited by the idea that he might be sore at her for making the decision by herself instead of letting him continue to care for her. “You should have gone, your hind end doesn’t look better… not at all, in fact. Here,” she says, nudging the fattier goose in his direction with her nose as she settles onto her belly and begins to pluck her pheasant.

“We need to get you to Taviora...” she says quieter, but more resolute than she had sounded or felt in a long time.
