THERE was a small part of him that felt guilty. He had left without a word, taking Morrigan and the girls with him initially until even that began to unravel. The spotted boy had never been meant for herd life so soon; he was not ready to bear the burden of responsibility He had done okay for a while and tried to force himself to be the responsible adult who constantly looked after those other than himself but it had not been in his blood. He hadn’t minded entirely and there were certainly fun times amongst mundane, but it was all too serious. There were times when it had felt like the very life being sucked out of him – like he was becoming someone he didn’t recognise or like. For a while, it was okay to lie to himself, but eventually, he just needed to leave it all behind.
THE mainland had been an interesting getaway, and, for a little while he thought he’d stay but Olaf had always warned him that the islands had a certain magnetism about them, and he had put up little resistance when they had started luring him back. He hadn’t quite believed his sire, however, not until he found himself standing back on the shores of the crossing isle, blue eyes drinking in the familiar sights. It seemed like everything and nothing had changed, and he honestly couldn’t be happier.
UNABLE to stand still, the bald faced stallion reared to his full height and then took off at top speed. The sights of the common flashed past him in a blur, trees whizzing by as made his way through the thicket that led to the meadow. He did not stop there though, oh no. Magnus only stopped when he reached the pool below the falls and leapt right into it, a great tidal wave thrown up in his wake.
