Nakato
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky |
A sudden seriousness crossed over Tick Tock’s face at the mention of Tobias. Nakato had assumed this pack worked like the one she was born in, with the two heads being a mated pair. But it seemed that that was not the case. She listed intently as her alpha gave her a warning about her… imprint? The druid made a mental note to ask what that was when the other had finished talking. In the meantime she continued to listen to the warning about the other head of the pack. He sounded like a fearsome creature with the ability to love and hate the world around him. A savage wolf that she would always be sure to keep an eye on. This did not phase her at all for she had heard stories of wolves much like Tobias in her homeland. Powerful creatures make the best alphas. She nodded her head knowingly and to confirm that she understood. The next question that came from Tick Tock confused Nakato slightly, but she gave a pleasant smile nonetheless and replied softly. ”Of course you are. You have not only allowed me to join your pack but you do not force me to submit like many others of your rank. You do not show teeth and have yet to chase me away. You make pleasant conversation and even give me warnings about the going ons in the pack. Yes, you are pleasant company indeed, Your Highness.” It didn’t surprise her that the darker female was curious about her trade and title. It wasn’t a common practice outside of her northern homeland. But how to explain it to someone who didn’t know about the spirits of the earth…? ”Let me ask you, do you think everything has a soul or a spirit? I do. There are spirits all around us that wish to guide us. I use the energy from these spirits to help me heal my patients. I always thank the plants whose roots I am taking to help mend wounds or dull pain and in doing so I believe that they lend their power to me. The same can be said about the animal we kill to give us energy. It is not a secret that that is the way of life but I must always be grateful.” Feeling that this was a great time to ask, Nakato turned her head and smiled. She was always smiling. ”You mentioned before that Tobias is your… imprint, yes? He is not your mate but it sounds like he still means something to you, am I wrong? I do not meant to intrude and if I am stepping beyond my boundaries, please let me know. I guess I am unfamiliar with the term imprint.” The two continued to walk together as they moved deeper into the plains. The rolling hills stretched out endlessly before them. Nakato gazed in wonder and amazement at how fortunate she was to have been accepted into a pack with such a beautiful territory. |
