The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

”This is so exciting Mikken! Thanks so much for bringing me!”

The young girl obviously couldn’t contain herself as she bounded through the crags and soon happened upon the entrance to the Grotto. She had been traveling a bit lately thanks to encouragement of her friend Hyrule, but she hadn’t yet made it here! She had heard it was this place that her mom and dad first met! Her mother had always made it out to be super romantic, and perhaps it was that that made the young russet girl even more excited to be exploring some dark wet cave. She wondered if he knew about that? Or if he just thought she was a very strange child that wanted to explore a cave rather than the fields that were starting to burst with flowers. But it was an important place. Maybe not for Mikken but for her family. She wanted to see where it all started she didn’t know why it just felt important.

Perhaps she expected some sort of purpose to come flooding over her, or memories to help guide her further on her way. She had a lot of ideas, ideas furthered pressed by Hyrule’s own and wishing to help him when she could. She still didn’t know everything, but she knew enough that she had to help him keep the shadows back and the light winning as it seemed to be now. How long though? She didn’t know, but she didn’t want it consuming her friends. So coming here to see where her parents met, ad first fell in love she figured maybe she would learn something about this place, about her history. Something good. However while she still held a more romantized light on the location it was still somehow a bit disappointing.

”So this is the place where my parents met. It’s a lot darker than I thought it would be.” She said looking up to the grey and white wolf with her large teal eyes her tail waving about. ”What do you know about this place, Mr. Mikken?” She asked giving her head an innocent tilt. She wanted to know as much as she could about it, maybe there was more than was what was on the surface. It was how most things were after all. Maybe they just had to dig a little deeper.
