For the past few days she had kept herself within her lair. Lately she had been preferring to sleep and rest while everyone else was out and enjoying the last few days of cold weather before Spring would make its official return. Before she held herself up within her sanctuary she had sorted out a few matters that needed to be taken care of. Her pack size had grown not only with age but in quantity as well. With new members it meant new mouths to feed and she had to make sure that her Fenrirs was ready to lead another hunt. It was the yearlings she was concerned with. The lack of their presence and activity was making her irritable. By the time her own daughter was one she had already begun to make herself work hard to climb up the ranks and she was slowly learning that not all children were the same in this manner. Gallieo was slowly reaching to his adult hood, as was Cuirass, and she was quite pleased with their activity. Though her attention to her pack would now have to be set aside for a while, because her attention will have to be focused on herself.
While Tobias and Flare were coming in from whatever shenanigans they did at night she had remained lying on her spot her eyes half-closed as she felt a familiar and unfamiliar shutter. When she lifted herself off the ground she struggled to shift her position, slightly, growling in frustration until she felt her water break. With a frustrated sigh she lowered herself back to the ground as she curled in a ball absolutely ready to rid herself of the parasites that overstayed their welcome. Once more her eyes would close and she would allow instincts to take over vowing mentally that she would not put herself in this situation again. As they day grew longer Tick Tock continued to stay curled in her ball, growling every now and then, unaware about her surroundings. Whatever Flare and Tobias were up to, she did not know, but her entire focus was figuring out how much longer she would have to endure. With her labor being much longer than usual she could already feel the pain begin to grow and extend as night began to fall. With the moon beginning to rise she was about ready to call for Nakato until she felt the familiar pains begin to rush. Sapphire eyes closed and as she struggled she was rewarded with the feeling of one of the pups being born.
Turning her dial around, panting, she looked to see a small charcoal grey and ebony looking pup. Grabbing the pup with her teeth she tucked it neatly to her side as she began to clean the muck on it. It was a quiet night tonight and for the moment the Monster seemed at peace as she continued to clean the creature she had made with her imprint. Eventually her pink tongue would wipe away the grime on the pups’ face to reveal the eerie familiar looking diamond-shaped mark on her daughter’s forehead. When she found Raven with the similar cursed mark she was deeply concerned thinking that perhaps Raven would suffer the same thing she had when she was a pup. Leaving her in Iromar and not taking her in the loner lands was the best idea she had for her. Here she would not have to be worried or concerned for her new daughter, because within the fields all would be accepted. Panting heavily she felt the familiar strain puzzled as she curled into a tight ball once more going through the motions again. Once more she gave life to a dark colored wolf and as she licked away the grime and muck she noticed how some of his hairs would lighten. Gently she would pick the boy up and place him beside her sister pushing her muzzle into him to get closer as a soft whine left her muzzle. Exhausted she lays her head down completely drained.
For the moment she is about to fall asleep until she hears the call of Jaidah and her heart grows still. With a ferocious snarl her teeth are barred as she slowly gets back to her paws, dark sapphires ablaze, angered to have herself in this position when the challenge was called. Since Jaidah was no longer in charge of the plains the fields had flourished under her time here. The pack had slowly grown in numbers. She had gained a treaty with Iromar and this particular odd organization of wolves that always carried the subtle scent of Diveen. They had a successful hunt and the members within her pack were becoming stronger and better. When one of her newest members were stolen she went to Diveen to take her back, all without non-violence, making it quite clear to the new King that she was very much aware of others actions and would hole them accountable. She had done well bringing the pack slowly back to strength and eradicating the stench of weakness. Thanks to the lack of Jaidah, her defeated companion, and the loss of her children – Asteraia was able to prosper.
It was no surprise that Jaidah would come back to the fields, but the Monster wished it had been at another time. Flare and Tobias were not around and she was unsure if even she could fight in her condition. With another frustrated snarl she took a tentative step forward attempting to ignore the calls from her children as the beckoned her for food and warmth, her mind pulled away from herself and her children, focusing solely on protecting the members within her field. It would seem that even if she wanted time for herself it would not be so. She had matters to take care of and it frustrated her to no end that she could not take care of it. It was difficult to control the instincts that began to pull her in two separate directions – the need to care for her own and the need to protect all in the fields as Alpha was far too controlling, and so she stood protectively over her pups unsure about what direction she needed to go.
