At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

I'll Leave the Ocean Behind

Once in a while we will find,

the sound of your heart beats with mine,

and when it's time

I'll leave the ocean behind...

Cordelia blushed a little again as Pierce called her Miss Cordelia. She liked it. A lot, really. It was sweet and respectful, something many others were not to her. She cherished her companions gentleman ways. She bet he was raised well, from a family where manners mattered. Just like her.

Thank you... but don't worry about it Pierce, I can barely feel it!

The tan lady replied with an encouraging smile. Their soft embrace was enough to send her flying to the clouds; as they parted she felt emptier. Like a chill was running between them. She wanted to squash it. She wanted to forever eradicate the cold space between them. The longer she spent in his company, the more she wanted to get to know her knight in shining armor. She wanted to travel all of Blossom Forest with him. She wanted to see every butterfly, count ever star and smell every flower by his side. She wanted to show him her home and learn more about his. Perhaps he'd let her come visit sometime and see it for herself.

As she told him all about her limited knowledge of Spring Grounds she couldn't help but feel self conscious. That was his home! She could be offending him! She had heard rumors of it being in turmoil, but never thought to stick around and confirm the accusations. She probably seemed like an awful wolf. Judging a place so quickly, and based off of rumors no less. She almost wanted to bite out her tongue until she heard her ghostly friend chuckle softly. He was taking it in stride apparently! He had such a lovely and understanding personality. He gently corrected her misunderstanding and even went as far as to tell her his favorite things about his home. She felt their connection grow stronger as he rambled on about the little things that made him smile. They all sounded so perfect. She wanted to see them all. She wanted him to show them to her, but only if he wanted to of course. She'd never make him share his most personal sanctuaries.

Before she could even open her mouth to offer an apology for her ignorance she felt the slightly wet moss come up to her face again. She was confused at first but the urge to laugh wiped away any thoughts she had. Pierce was tickling her? That alone made her laugh harder. How cute was he! Erupting giggles escaped her throat before she got enough of a hold of herself to stand and jog a few feet away. Pale green orbs flashed back and connected with amber ones in what could only be considered a playful challenge. Cream paws danced a little before starting to run a little farther. Instinctively her body carried her toward her home. Maybe she could lead Pierce there and share a part of her life with him? Silently she hoped that he'd follow. She already felt like he was filling a piece of her that she thought would be empty forever.
