Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I look forward to the day mom and dad can take us to the other lands to meet our brothers and sisters. I bet they're as big as mom and dad so I can chew on their ears and tackle their toes just like I do my parents! I can't wait. Surely they'll be happy to meet us too. Samia has always been more timid but I just feel like that gives me a goal in life, to be there for her to nuture her confidence until she grows into it. I always tell her when she admits that she's afraid that she's just gotta grow into her confidence and she will some day, I'm sure of it. I look after my sister without mom even telling me to. It's just instinct for me to want to watch over her. Sure I can be rough when we pounce on each other and stuff and I know sometimes I accidentally hurt her but I always apologize and then try to make it up to her by doing something silly, anything to make her laugh.

She sounds so uncertain so I nose her back leg encouragingly. "It'll be okay, I know it." I assure her with determination in my eyes. I know the world is a big place but I know we belong in it and that's where I want to be. I need to be there. As she steps out, I grin in triumph, glad that she took the bait but as she presses herself against the den, my ears flatten and I scowl. No, no, that's no way to do it. She needs to get out there and explore! That's what I want to do. And so I take initiative and pounce at her, barking in glee as our bodies collide and fall to the ground. She yelps and my ears flatten at that sound but then she's growling and biting back at me and I laugh, glad to know I didn't hurt her. She kicks at me and I grunt as her feet hit my stomach, finally rolling off of her to let her get to her feet. "Doesn't that feel better?" I ask with a teasing grin as I shake the dirt from my fur. My eyes are glowing at her slyly.

I sigh as she rushes after the butterfly the moment she sees it, knowing that she'll be distracted by that thing as long as I let her be. I glare at the insect as if that alone will make it fly away but alas it does not and I plod along slowly behind Samia, waiting for her to either lose interest or for the butterfly to land somewhere so I can pounce on it. As I call out to her, she looks away from the butterfly for just an instant and that's all it takes. The butterfly moves up and out of reach and I can't help the way my brows rise in excitement to know that she can't chase it anymore. She looks annoyed for all of a second but then she grins at me and I know I've got my sister's attention again. I can also see the lack of fear in her eyes now and I grin right back, wagging my tail eagerly. Now we can get some real exploring done!

At her words, I bound ahead, brushing past her so she doesn't see me roll my eyes at her words of caution. "Yes, mother." I say in a mocking tone but I turn my head to give her a teasing wink and show her my grin so she knows that I'm joking with her. With that, my steps get a light airy jaunt to them as I practically skip through the pack lands, looking for something to catch my eye. Suddenly I stop, ears pricked forward and my eyes go wide. "Hey, do you hear that?" I turn to Samia in curiosity before I turn and take off toward the sound. "Come on!" I call out over my shoulder, knowing that she won't want to be left alone anyway. I follow the sound all the way to the river banks and there I stop at the edge to watch the water rushing past. It pounds against the rocks and a couple stones stick up above the water, daring me to jump on top and face the water. I turn to Samia as she catches up.

"Think we can make it across?"
