Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

It didn't seem logical at first. In fact, he hardly seemed like the type to demand the spotlight any more than other stranger and yet, he had done so. Nothing about him stood out initially, especially against the backdrop of a slowly forming crowd and recently bloomed wildflowers. Still, the more her eyes roamed, the more they were pulled back to him even at her distance. See, his pelt had initially appeared grey - plain grey, flat and matte and without any real merit. Yet, the second time her eyes fell upon him, it seemed to almost be slick with luster. There seemed to be an unfathomable depth to his fur, as if it moved and danced in the very wind despite its apparent stillness. It was difficult to place and yet it continuously caught her attention. Eventually, she had been unable to look away.

That in itself had been a surprise. After all, she rarely had a such a focused interest in an individual, particularly one she had not observed for some time. Yet, there she stood atop her little stone empire, enthralled by the way he seemed to linger with the others and yet there lingered a vague jealousy. Why was she not so close? He seemed interested in them. What were they doing that seemed so captivating? Was it there form of play? Hardly, surely! It was the same way children played. No, he ought to have been looking at her. She had a glorious coat, after all, of rare hues and a peculiar build that spoke of strength. Yes, it would have been much more logical for him to look towards her! Yet, he seemed otherwise occupied. It... bothered her, and her inability to rationalize it bothered her even more so.

She huffed, her ears flicked back in agitation as she leaped down from her rock. She landed with a gentle thud, instantly taking off at a lope through the fields and towards him and yet, never directly for him. Instead, she made an awkward half circle around him, rustling the grass just enough at a comfortable distance to (hopefully) catch his attention. Then, she took her place along the other side of him some minute or two away. A private distance. Surely, he'd pay attention to her now. Then, perhaps, she could begin to make sense of it all.
