Nakato
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky |
Nakato had been busy the last few days. After seeing that the Monster and her cubs were taken care of, she had also been preparing for the king’s return. Cuirass had been a big help in getting her what she needed and when the roar erupted in the distance, Nakato knew she was needed. At once, she was at attention and by Tick Tock’s side, bob-tail wiggling happily as she realized her home had been saved. The Monster had been resting next to her while the grey wolfess had been keeping watch of the den’s entrance. She knew Tobias would be back any moment and he was going to need attention. She turned to look at the scarred female. ”I will be right back, Mistress. There is something I need to get from my den.” And with that, she took off towards her herbs. Once inside her den, Nakato went to work quickly. Luckily, Asteria was full of a plant her old pack had called “sleepy grass”. It was a tall weed that grew in abundance on the flat lands and looked similar to wheat, but rather than a golden color it was more like sienna. The seeds that grew on the top of the stalk were what she needed and she carefully scattered several of them in the large wolf haunch she had had Cuirass get for her. He split it open so she could easily conceal the herbs in the flesh. Hopefully, Tobias would eat the meat without stopping to taste the herbs. Grabbing a few basic herbs she knew she would need, and with even more care, she grabbed the bone (trying hard not to gag at the thought of what was in her mouth) and carried it back to the Alpha’s den. Tobias was already there when she had returned. Tick Tock had managed to get him on the ground and was laying next to him, their children beside her. The Monster explained she needed to drug him and Nakato nodded her dark head, already one step ahead of her leader. Wordlessly, she moved behind and below Tobias (trying to stay as far away from his head as possible) and rested the wolf meat next to his back paws. He would have to get up slightly to grab it, but that would give her the time she needed to escape should he turn into a rage. The druid noticed his wounded sheath and felt a bubble of rage erupt in her stomach. To do such a thing was terrible! Did the challenger not know the meaning of honorable combat? Secretly, she hopped Tobias had done more damage to her than she had to him. Without a word, the Frankenstein-to-be slowly backed away (or bolted away depending on how Tobias reacted to the scent of flesh) and waited for the drugs to take effect. |
