Each passing second excited and energized Taika even more. Usually when she came across someone it was her who was the more excitable one, pulling others into her games whether they had really wanted to or not. The white wolf’s energy fueled her own, escalating her to a point she was almost sure she had never reached before. While Neverland bounced in place, Taika raced circles around the other girl. Her tail high as a flag at full mast and her ears back only to decrease wind resistance. Her speed picked up, her body far more used to moving than her younger counterpart. She knew the feelings of flight the other girl spoke up. Whenever her paws left the ground her soul fly through the clouds and the air. Nothing could keep her earth bound for long.
“Not everyone!” Taika answered, her chocolate body sliding to a halt in front of the white. Though she was more skilled in using her feet, her shoulder still scraped against the dry dirt in a puff of dust. “But the ones that matter do!” Her grin broadened and she leapt to the other girl’s side. “There are many games that we can play in the forest! But it is more fun if the forest plays with us. The fairies and creatures here are more entertaining than just us!” Padding forward, she jumped into a clump of underbrush, ignoring the pull of the branches on her fur. She sniffled and snuffled around, making a big show of searching for something.
“There were fairies here. But they moved on.” She looked at the ground for a moment and noticed the faded tracks of a rabbit. Her head tilted slightly to the side and she sniffed at it, her tail wagging. The scent was as faded as the tracks, easy to send them on a wild goose chase that would lead them to who knew where! “They took their pet rabbit to find a better home! We should find them and see if we can make friends! Or to welcome them to their new dens!” Her eyes were alight with the imagination and thirst for adventure. As she looked over the white youngster she hoped her companion would be just as eager to follow her into a world of fantasy.
