It was as if his world had been standing still since she had come into his life only to vanish like a blazing star streaking across the night sky. Now that he had found her once more everything came springing back to life, the sky seemed clearer, the sun brighter, and he thought he might find a purpose once more. For a long while he simply stared at her, drinking in her violet eyes that faded to near black, the shapely form of her face and how the different hues of her coat blended together, near sparkling in the late day sun. She was the most beautiful of dreams come to life before his very eyes, and he didn’t know how he ever got so lucky as to have his soul call to her own as it did. For some imprints didn’t work out near so well he knew, but he had known from the moment their souls connected she was perfect for him and he would do anything to be that for her.
Despite the joy he felt at seeing her again concern was still etched on his rugged features, having felt her worry and sadness which prompted his eager question. The ghost of a smile played on her lips and he felt it mirror on his own muzzle simply by instinct alone, her soft words confirming that she would be okay in the future enough to quell his worries at least temporarily. Everything was erased from his mind as she stepped quickly toward him, only a hairs breadth separating him so he could feel the slight exhalation of her breath on his nose. He blinked rapidly, focusing on her features that were closer now than ever before. The gradient darkening of her eyes a stark contrast to the cream of her face, and the way the golden hue over her shoulders and back was flecked with a contrasting white. He longed to touch her, to push his nose tenderly into the soft warmth of her cheek and inhale her scent that was as much a part of him as his own.
Yet as untraditional as he was it wasn’t in him to push where he might not be wanted, and he hoped he would have many opportunities to do just that in the future. The charged silence between them is broken only her words which draw his attention wholly back to her face, his brow crinkling in slight concern that something had made her so tired, but he would do anything she asked and keeping her company would never be a issue.
For a moment he simply tried to figure out where to begin, a year had passed since seeing her last, but his life was not an exciting read. In response he merely rolled his slender shoulders in the most canine of shrugs, fixing his red flecked eyes on her once more.
