What could be so interesting as to stare into the pack with such intensity as this creature? I wouldn't know. Nothing in my life had been so important, so interesting. All I had been interested in during the last few months was remaining hidden. Of slaking my thirst and hunger when it grew too unbearable but otherwise remaining separate from the world. What the hell had the world ever given me? Nothing. Pain and cruelty and bitterness. I hated it. I had thought once about sinking to the bottom of the lake, had even paused in my strokes across to the island that I had taken a liking too, but it seemed an unbearable way to go. Water, cold, rushing into my nares and my lungs... the idea was not appealing. At least I was free and alive. That is all I could be thankful for.
I half expected the male to leap up since I did just run across him lazing about. It wouldn't be a surprise if he attacked me. It would be the same story of my life just another wolf, so I braced myself with a wary expression, but he only turns to look at me with surprise at my appearance. He was a fearsome creature with his large figure and strange eyes. If he came at me in the dead of night I'd probably faint straight away thinking some damn ghost was coming to get me. The idea makes my lips twitch suddenly before I blink hard to remind myself this is not the time to be going on crazy mind-benders.
That he answers me is shocking. But what he says is truly even more so because the moment he opens his mouth Zeus is telling me things that no one else had ever told me. He is sharing his story. I am intrigued, my steel colored eyes widening as I tilt my head at him and my haunches slowly edge down until I am sitting with my tail tucked around my legs. His voice is deep but he sounds concerned. I.. couldn't really think of advice. Usually my life is the one in shambles so how the hell could I assist him?
I find that I am rising on his behalf as he speaks, my tail and spine fluffed out in indignation. My eyes slip from his to glare down into the canyon country of Diveen, the ones who did not understand that Zeus had been merely playing a prank.
