"Your name shall be carved into legend once my Sword has carved into your chest." ~Song Of Achilles
I am hoping that her attitude will have changed some with the seasons and now that the weight of her unborn litter is gone. I just hope she was nicer to her kids because she certainly didn't seem to be taking pregnancy very well with everyone else. She looks over my shoulder, her eyes perusing and I patiently wait for her attention to return, knowing that she won't find anything since I didn't bring anyone with me. I am an assassin and as such, I'm used to secrets and deception but not with someone I hope to have peace with. I've found that honesty works best when it comes to allies.
When I bring up the name Hyrule gave her, she says it's fine but not to let it travel. I'm pretty sure this isn't her real name so I'm a little disappointed that I don't warrant something different but whatever. We'll work on trust. I nod to let her know I understand not to talk about her name, even if it probably is a code name.
As the younger male approaches, she seems approving of his presence, wagging her tail. She seems amused if anything about his words but something sly in her eyes must mean that this is not the end of it. Perhaps she just doesn't want me present. Whatever, I have nothing to hide. She praises him and I wait patiently, knowing it's not my place in this conversation. I'm sure they talk about a lot of odd things and maybe sometimes they talk in tongues for all I care. She watches the young male as he moves about but finally her attention returns to me. At her invitation to come across the borders, I do so without hesitation, taking a seat across from her to show my confidence here now that I have her permission to be here.
I tilt my head some at her words before replying. "The terms of an alliance with your pack, or at least a treaty. I know the kinds of wolves you shelter and most would think there's no way our packs can come to an understanding but I believe we can prove them wrong. I want a compromise. We don't steal from your pack and you don't steal from ours. Your pack does not prey on anyone under my protection and my pack won't target any that you protect. If anything ever happens to breach these laws, you and I discuss the consequences before we act since I know you are just as fiercely protective of your wolves as I am of mine and I'd hate to have our understanding completely ruined because of someone's misled mistake. You punish your wolves and I punish mine. We keep our packs separate but keep peace based on trust, a trust I hope to build with you through time and perseverence. Anything you would like to ask or add on?"
I turn my attention back to the dark male with green eyes as he answers my questions, noting the great concentration in his gaze as he tells me his name is Lonhro. He adds on something about rabbits and I offer a sly smirk. "An honor to meet you then, Lonhro. I would offer to catch you a rabbit but I have a feeling you like the chase. How about we pair up for a hunt some time? I'd enjoy getting to know you better. Would you like that? I bet we can catch plenty of the hoppers." I watch him as he follows and listens and my ears flicker almost in disappointment as he turns to leave. I just hope he remembers my offer. How interesting it must be to hunt with a son of Tobias, the most feared wolf in Moladian. At least he didn't say he likes to eat wolves. That would be awkward.
