The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

I catch a whiff of the wolf's scent and am disappointed to find him of Spirane. I mostly tend to hunt loners becuase there's less chance of backlash. I wouldn't care if they were from a pack or not if the alpha wasn't dead set on making peace with everyone. I thought the whole point of having killers in her pack was to instill fear in the others but I guess not.

I continue to watch the wolf, undecided in my next course of action. I could ask him to spar with me instead but what if he says no? It's not like I can call him to come to Asteraia because it seems his loyalty is already elsewhere. As for him staring into that giant pool of water? I don't know; maybe his mind's not all there. The moment the wolf's ear flicks toward me, I know that I made a mistake. Air hisses through my teeth as I coil my back legs just in case I need to launch, whether it be at him in attack or away for a quick escape. I may be fearless but I know when it's time to survive rather than fight.

The male locks his gray eyes on me and I straighten, wanting to look less suspicious like I've been watching him for a midnight snack and more like I just wandered up on him. At his simple word, I prick my ears and hold my ground, not wanting to step into the light shining through the ceiling. I do like to stay in the shadows just as my parents. "You always stare at yourself in the water or is that a new trick?" My lips crinkle a little in the shadow of a smirk.
