Gods may bleed among mortals... font>
What is one pack capable of when they are cornered? How far are they willing to go against one wolf alone? When this lone wolf is willing to do anything to get what he wants. When alone, the wolf is enough to kill several of their friends. Strategy is what guides Zeus and it is one thing that he never failed at, each of his moves were carefully planned so everything is right where he wants them to be, every neck is at his jaws at the same time. Threats only made him feel greater, more powerful. The more hunted and the more hated Zeus was, the more it fed his ego, the more he was driven forward. The closer he was to death.
His eyes and ears were everywhere. This night, he knew everything. Never had the great wolf felt so alive and so powerful.
Amir walked forward through the grotto, his nose at work, trying to find Zeus. But as much as he tried, he could not smell a thing, the warrior had this secret flaw. Amir’s nose did not work. But he could not let anyone know that. It had been so many years since nobody noticed this. But right in this night, it would be quite clear. Especially to Zeus.
In a big cave that reminded a tunnel, he waited hidden in the dark. While the scent of Zeus led to the inside of the cave, there was nobody else’s scent in there. The wolves Zeus captured were not there or anywhere in the Grotto. Amir took a deep breath and raised his head to look inside the cave. It was dark, but not pitch black, it was possible to see with the few lunar beams inside. The warrior entered the cave and looked around, trying to find the god. His ear twitched with the sound of a small rock rolling down to his left.
Zero second. Amir started to turn, knowing that the sound was made by someone and not by the cave. Half second. Like a ghost in the dark, Zeus emerged from Amir’s left, running right at him and running at the top of his speed. One Second. Amir’s frame was finishing turning to face his biggest enemy yet, his eyes met the bigger wolf, but Zeus jaws were already open and targeting Amir’s neck. One second and a half. Zeus jaws wrapped around his neck and pushed him with all strength forward in the direction of the cave’s wall. With a loud thud, Amir’s body crashed on the wall and Zeus’s weight alone was almost enough to break his neck.
Thankfully, it wasn’t. Amir’s body fell on the ground. One down. Or so he thought. The warrior was smaller, but much more resistant and stronger than a wolf would think. Amir twisted his form to get up, wrapping his jaws around one of Zeus’ forepaws, pulling and twisting his head at the same time. Zeus had no choice, but to fall or break his leg. Another thud on the ground and the battle started. Amir snapped at Zeus’ neck, but he protected it, pushing his forepaws against Amir’s chest and rolling to get up again.
Zeus knew he didn’t have to howl, his friend would come forward at the right time. Zeus attacked next, using his bigger frame to advantage, crashing his chest against Amir’s and sending him off balance to his next attack.
