In his current state, Jaeger didn't really look alive. His unconscious state seemed to be undoing his entire life, stealing his memories and leaving nothing in their place. As the woman worked over him, he laid there unmoving, lucky enough for him given that packing his rather serious wounds would have likely caused him to pass out again. There wasn't much to do or to think, alone with the vastness of his mind, empty and turned around and confused.
A low groan came from his maw as his healer started to yell at him to get up, and violet eyes blinked upon to find an unfamiliar face standing over him. In fact, everything looked unfamiliar. Jaeger began to look around as much as he could without moving his head, and realized that he had no idea who he was, where he was, or how he got here. It seemed as though his life had just been erased completely from his memory. "I... where am I?" He grunted, trying to get to his feet before collapsing with pain, panting heavily. What happened? Had he been attacked or something? Why? The boy had so many questions, but the grumpy wolf standing above him didn't exactly seem the type who would want to answer.
"I mean... thank you. Did you see who-" All of the sudden, memories came flooding back- but pieces of them, with parts blurred out and obscured. Memories of playing with a wolf, his grandfather, with white fur and violet eyes. Violet eyes like his. And the wolf that had attacked him. White fur, violet eyes- but Heyel was dead. Heyel was dead so that must mean that he rose from the dead to attack him? It didn't make sense, but it terrified Jaeger, chilled him to his very core. He heard laughter in his ears, as if the ghost of his grandfather was there, laughing, waiting to finish him.
"Nevermind. My head really hurts, I don't remember anything. That's not an important question." Jaeger said dryly, squeezing his eyes shut against the pain and the laughter and the torment. Questions bounced around his head incessantly, but the biggest one was; Who am I? |
