Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

As the pair of vargs lay together, nuzzling one another and mainly remaining silent except for the small talk they were making. They had months of time to catch up on and yet they were in no rush to do so. They had all the time in the world and did not need to know everything about one another just yet. Still, the brute was indeed curious and so he inquired as to what she had been doing in their time apart. His reasoning was two fold. First off, and most obvious, was because he genuinely cared about what she did, what she was interested in, and where she was feeling most comfortable. But, more importantly, was whether or not she had been making an effort to get to know the pack members themselves. There was no denying, either to themselves or to each other, that they were developing feelings for each other, and while Kalgalath liked to think that he was just like any other wolf, he was not. He held a high ranking position and had responsibility to his pack and the members therein. One of the large reasons that Kalgalath believed he and Zig did not work out was because she never put in the effort.

Zig had been one of the oldest members of the pack, aside from Kong. When Kalgalath had been voted into his position, it had been with surprise because neither of the two wolves who had been active under the previous reign had stepped forward. But not even when she had become Queen had she changed her stance on involvement. She had seemed like a good choice to be his mate, not only because he had feelings for her but because she had already belonged. Instead, she had become confrontational with the other members, being obtrusive to them and often overruling Kalgalath's own rules. None of the members had felt comfortable with her, or even liked her save Kong... and the nail in the coffin had been when she had welcomed in her old lover with caresses, in front of their daughter.

When she had left, it had been a mess. Kalgalath had been heart broken but had been forced to challenge her to remove her from her throne, and then proceeded to ban her from the packlands all together. He had allowed himself to fall to disarray... and he could not allow that to happen again. As much as he cared for Sebring, if she did not fit with the pack and if she did not gain their trust and respect, their relationship could never proceed any further. Luckily, his fears were calmed.

She smiled at him, his lids raising so that her suns met his arctics. Well, this is the first time I’ve left Aurora since we first met. I spent most of my time wandering around the terra exploring and trying to dust off what little hunting skills I had… It was a rough start. I spent a lot of my time picking off of old carcasses around the border and when I was lucky enough to catch a squirrel or mole I usually rationed it. But prey is still fairly active right now so I was lucky to have access to plentiful prey. The fae laughed and Kalgalath reached toward her to trace her lips with his tongue, his own lids closing as he imagined that her laughter had a taste. Light, bubbly, sweet. How was it that this femme could confuse his senses so that his hearing and his tastes merged such as this?

I spent most of time just watching the prey and their habits so I might lessen the amount of time I spent with my nose buried in the dirt. Sebring winked at him and he smiled, nuzzling at her. "I can teach you how to hunt better, sweetling. Now that you are stronger and your endurance has returned, we shall go hunting together. Fear not, your nose shall soon be dirtless." He returned her wink. While Kalgalath did not like to brag about his skills, he was quite the hunter and quite the fighter. His own father had been the Alpha of a peaceful pack that had worked smoothly and worked together. Thus, Kalgalath had had many different teachers, and he was a superb student who had worked studiously. He would be honored to share the knowledge with the femme, for if there was anything Kalgalath loved most, it was helping others. I have taken time to meet with pack members and even an ally from Saw Tooth! I had the pleasure of meeting three femmes—Hellene and her daughter Khaleesi, and a fellow healer to-be Daenerys, from Saw Tooth. Hellene was very knowledgeable and very kind to teach us. And her daughter Khaleesi was a sweetheart… I do hope to see them again soon! And Daenerys was also very sweet, I would have the mind to visit her once I’m better at finding my way around. The only other pack member I’ve met would be Tarly. Adorable little thing, but terrified… Sebring's happiness slowed until finally she became visually distraught.

"Tarly's story is sad, though he does not know the whole story himself. Much of his fear is of his own making. His mother was deceived by a brute and ended up being raped. Her frame was slight, and be it that or heartbreak, she died giving birth to the pups. For whatever reason, the pups were raised by a kalak named Shae and she then placed each of the four pups with a different family. One remained in Moondown Shadows, where their mother had lived, to be adopted by the Alpha there, Striker. Tarly was placed here with Magic. Another was placed in Bright Moon with her uncle there, and now that I think about it, I cannot recall if there was a fourth. There may have been, but I do not know where it ended up. But as I said, Tarly's fear is his own. He was well cared for as a pup and continues to be here. I do not know what it is that ails him, unfortunately, but I wish I did." Tarly reminded Kalgalath of another in his pack,. Destan, who also was afraid of much of the world. His fears had eased as he aged, but they had never fully disappeared.

Kalgalath, why does pain have to come to the most innocent of the world..? The brute shook his head as she buried her face in his fur, then began to cry out. Please, don’t let him hurt me… Don’t let anyone hurt him Kalgalath… Please. I don’t want anyone to go through that kind of pain… p-pl-please… Don’t let him hurt me Kalgalath… please don’t let him… Kalgalath's deep vocals rumbled out and he looped his neck around her as he had so often before. "Shh...shh my love be still." Her nightmares before had always quieted when he was around, and he felt terribly for not being there for her as of late. "I will never let anyone hurt you, my Sebring, my dove. You are safe with me, here, always. " He knew of the pain that she had suffered and could only hope that his comfort would be enough. "Life is not fair, but it does not purposefully seek out the innocent. All we can do is protect those weaker than us with the hopes that when we are weak, another will be there to protect us in turn."
