Summer is here and Fall is short around the corner. There is unrest as it stands but, perhaps it is to our advantage. Let no one question our strength. Those who wish to speak on rank, seek me out. If anyone wishes to put a hunt together inform me. Adults or others who wish to rise in rank may seek me out.

heros may die...but legends endure

She didn’t mean to upset him, not after working so hard to talk to him and make him cheer up. Dampening his mood was not her intent it was just talking about her family from Asteraia made her sad. Someday she would be able to ignore the feelings of sadness and just have pride in them. But she still mourned the fact she never got to meet them and see them, all because a female who wanted their lands went too far. She felt pride in her grandmother Moth and she guessed that was because she got to know her and see her when she finally did pass. Leaving part of herself within each and every one of them as she did, but Zelda didn’t think she got to have any of her paternal side simply because she hadn’t yet been born. It wasn’t Hyrule’s fault for not knowing her family, not when he had so many of his own. He had his own goals, beliefs and problems to deal with of course he wouldn’t know of everyone else’s in Moladion. The princess was understanding in that so she was hardly upset at him for bringing it up or not thinking about it before asking.

Her gaze was still downcast when his eyes widened in surprise. Not many would expect that kind of answer. Not when peace reigned in most places and killings weren’t exactly common over the lands. Most wolves vanished or wandered off never to be seen again, or died of natural causes not… killed. Though she would do well to remember as well that Heyel too did not die of natural causes. Yes, she had been told, she was born before his death, both her own grandparents had gone to the funeral, but she had stayed home, still too young to really understand what had happened anyway. Though when she finally had collected herself enough to look back into his gaze she did her best to hold back the tears that threatened to flow. The look of distain was not missed making her sniff slightly trying to hold them back even more. She could feel the soft pain of keeping it from happening shaking her head slightly trying to keep it back but she wasn’t doing well.

She couldn’t help but put her face into his fur so he couldn’t see. He didn’t like it, she gathered that but she didn’t want to say anything more. She was sorry she couldn’t stop herself from crying, from being upset. But she never really met anyone who didn’t know about them, but like Hyrule until recently she was around mostly pack members and her own family and of course they all knew that the former King and Queen of Asteraia were put to rest there. It was upsetting to know that so few knew their legacy, even someone seemingly as knowledgeable as Hyrule didn’t know either but he was still young and it was unlikely he ever had the chance to meet them.

She wasn’t expecting him to say or do anything about it. Honestly just having him there to listen was enough to sooth the girl’s heart and soul. A shoulder to lean on was all she needed in her moment of grief but Hyrule gave her much, much more. A way to find an answer. She was surprised and picked up her head from his shoulder to gaze into his violet, blinking feeling stunned as he went on. She knew what he meant by acting and she wasn’t sure how she felt about that. Acting. That meant getting revenge she supposed and getting revenge wasn’t right even though she knew that was exactly what her father wanted the other side of her, the Aztec side of her, told her no, but maybe when she was older her thoughts would change. ”Thank you, Hyrule… I am sorry.”

He urged her to come then, giving her a little nudge that set her onto her paws brushing him as they set off together. She didn’t know why but she felt a lot better now. Just having told him about it felt like a little weight was off her chest. She would get better about doing that someday she guessed, right now though she was happy to lope behind him allowing him to lead the way to the land her parents had died trying to protect. She was ready for it now and she thought that this would be one of the last things to bring her closer to her grandparents than before. It wasn’t a long journey, but it was enjoyable. She liked running and being around Hyrule it was different than being around other wolves, but she was still a little too young to really understand crushes and boyfriends. Though if he asked she would probably say yes just because she did like him even if she didn’t fully understand what it was.

She had slowed once they reached the borders watching him as he let out a bark to the lands before striding on in like he lived there. She knew he had said he knew the current Alphess, but she was a little surprised nonetheless. Perhaps he was allies or closer than she figured. Allies of Taviora were welcome to cross borders whenever they wanted so that had to be it. She walked with him eyes trying to take in everything which was not a lot, but it was still beautiful all the same. It was vast and she could see as far as the eye could see. Here and there she thought she could see brush and shrubs colored to fit the season. Hyrule was still calling Impa, leading her over to a small shade tree to which she sat beneath still just taking it all in. It was different than she thought it was. She felt a sort of home feeling similar to that to Taviora even though none of her family’s scent remained on the land at all. Just knowing that they had lived here happy at one point was enough to bring a smile to her maw.

Hyrule seated himself next to her then causing her gaze to leave the land and go to him. Zelda’s tail waved lightly out behind her when he spoke smiling at him warmly feeling so much better than she had earlier in the day. ”Me too. It’s so different than Taviora. They are buried back there, my grandmother made it for a few days before succumbing to her wounds and my grandfather found later… But I would like to see if I can figure out where their den was or my parents den too. Just while we are here. Oh! And the beach! I never been on a beach before but mother said there was one here that met up with water that expanded way beyond the horizon and no land at all in sight!” She exclaimed cheerily, sounding much more like a true excited child now than ever before. Yes so the girl did not live in an ocean front pack like almost all of the others with the exception of Spirane. Even less of them had any expanse of beach to which she could actually go to the ocean side. That would be a fun experience she thought. Something happy and something she knew her family enjoyed when they lived here.
