In all honesty, Whimsy was not very good at holding a grudge. Perhaps if she had found out right after getting pregnant she could have been angry for at least a month. But by now she had come to terms with being pregnant, and was unbothered by the stares of some who thought it unacceptable to be pregnant out of wedlock. Really, all she felt right now was tired. And love for the tiny newborn in her arms. And Calvin was a friend, had been her friend, almost as long as she had been within Shaman. It would be silly to shun her friends now, when she needed all the help she could get. "I'm still mad... " she says, unconvincingly, "but I'll forgive you." She holds Darby out to him. In some ways she still thinks of Calvin as an irresponsible boy, who means well, but makes a lot of bad decisions.

She makes as if to get up when the midwife comes over and starts to scold. Brushing her off, she continues to sit up and motions to Peets standing in the doorway. "We really should have been keeping a better eye on him. Especially when he gets random powers, I suppose." Sometimes she finds it easier to talk to Calvin's familiar than him. Both of them had the similar interest of keeping him safe, often from himself and the consequences of his decisions. She really is not feeling like idle conversation, but is also aware she will not be able to fall back asleep. "Would you like some tea?" she offers, heading in the direction of the kitchen before being shooed onto a chair while Addie started the kettle.

"When you are done holding him, he can go into the crib there" as she motions to a simple wooden cradle, set next to the bed. "And in case no one else told you, his name is Darby" she adds, in a tone that clearly says it is not up for discussion. "And we are not a couple." Whimsy felt the need to add that in there. Just because they had had a child together (sort of) did not mean she felt feelings of love or physical attraction for him. Of course, she did have to look into graduating, and possibly a more permanant residence other than here, since the Olive Grove was always so busy. She tried not to think about too much at once as she mixed some tea leaves into a small strainer and set it in her cup, waiting for the hot water.
