The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Grey Wind

The brute had been more distracted with his injuries, and his current visitor than he liked to admit. His previously dislocated limb still pained him, but it was more annoying and frustrating than painful. He had always prided himself in being a fine soldier and he was worried that his injury might impair his abilities in the future. The large grey male had been making sure to re-strengthen his muscles, working out and practicing like he had been taught when he was much younger and first learning how to fight. He felt foolish sometimes, but he knew it needed to be done if he was going to be as good a fighter as he had been in the past. The male never went too far from his den though, not wanting his denmate to think that she had any ideas that she could take his absences as a potential chance to escape. She often seemed like a fearful femme, but it could be an act, or she could gain the courage to try and leave one day. He had told her all the devilishly fun injuries he would gladly inflict upon her if she did try and escape, and so far that had been enough to keep her close by.

One morning as the male was training, a foreign scent caught his attention. Abendrot had visitors, and not ones of the lupine family. His fur stiffened and a growl escaped his throat. Normally he would have already be speeding through the trees, but he had Macaria to think of. His paws quickly reached the den, fury on his features not only at the intruders in his home, but also that he had to deal with this female. He let out a sharp bark to get the smaller female’s attention, vocals quickly pouring forth. ”I have business to deal with in Abendrot. I have wolves watching this area. If you step even one paw outside this den, I ensure you that you will never breathe another breath.” Yellow orbs bore into hers for a moment, making sure that she understood the threat, before speeding through the trees. The sharp odor of Kershov reached his nares and ease went through him. Somehow knowing that his king was close by made him feel better. As his form slowed and he crouched low, making sure to keep his form hidden. His yellow orbs finally saw the intruders that had come into the lands of Abendrot. A pair of cougars had thought it a good idea to come in these lands, and the male had to silence a growl.

Grey Wind’s ears perked as he heard tree branches above his head snap, and he looked up to see Mabbit’s form silently climbing higher. He did not know if Kershov knew he was there yet, but he knew how attentive the alpha was and that there was no way Grey Wind could sneak up on him. His grey form came alongside Kershov’s, letting him know that he had backup for the fight to come. Both males waited until Mabbit leapt from the tree, and without a moment’s hesitation two forms, one grey and one white, leapt from their hiding place, charging at the intruders of their home.

"Fight back,"He snarled.
