The Way of the Warrior

What in the world was he supposed to do with pups? Hocus Pocus had made it very clear that she wants nothing to do with their pups, yet she had agreed, reluctantly, to take two of the pups. Aindreas was no sure that he wanted his pups going to Malignant Felicity - it was not exactly a place known for taking good care of pups. It was a hard, cruel place to live, and he wondered how it would effect their upbringing... Especially when it was clear that she did not care for them at all. All he could do was to raise the ones on his end with extra love to make up for the loss that the others would not be receiving. Still, they would be raised by only a single parent. How could he compensate for everything that a mother was supposed to provide them. A father should teach them how to fight, how to train, how to a protect. A mother was supposed to teach them respect, loyalty, and how to care. Not that Aindreas had been supplied with any of that.

~*~*~*~*~*~
Mommy I don't want to go! Aindreas squirmed to out of her grasp, but her incisors or hardened down on his scruff, causing him to tuck his paws up tighter to his body. You have to go, Aindreas. I can't care for you anymore. Aindreas whimpered and tried to swipe at his mother with his paw, but his limbs weren't long enough. But you are keeping Adara... And Rohan. Why don't you want me? I'm a good boy, Mommy! I'll be better! Aindreas whimpered again - he couldn't understand why she wanted to abandon him and only him. Why was she keeping his siblings... Why was he the one to be left behind, alone and forgotten? His mother shook her head a bit, reprimanding him. You ask too many questions, Aindreas. You never listen. All I ever asked you to do was obey. In truth, Aindreas probably was the most well behaved of all of them all, but Nika couldn't handle three pups in her state. Aindreas... Well he had been the unlucky one that she had chosen to get rid of. Her paws had led her all day and all night until Aindreas did not know up from down, and only then did she leave him in a heap on the outskirts of Blossom Forest - there would be no way he could ever find his way back. Dropping him abruptly, she turned away from him. Run along now, Aindreas, go find a family. With that, Nika had gone.

~*~*~*~*~*~

His mother had left him. But her words would effect him forever, for he would always feel that those were his downfalls - 'you ask too many questions', 'you never listen', 'obey', 'go find a family'. Aindreas had been here for years, but still he was shaped by his mother's abandonment. He had skipped from one pack to another, always the soldier, never the general, and looked for love wherever he went, only he wasn't aware of it, and lacked the social skills to properly interact with those around him.

With the rise of the sun, Aindreas had left his den - and his pups - slowly, quietly. His sister had taken up residence in his den as well, to help him care for the pups, and to teach him how to feel. In societal situations he was awkward, and often seen as cold. He didn't understand personal boundaries, but he also didn't understand the finesse of touch, of conversation, of relations. Adara gave him daily lessons, but it was so odd of a thing to try to learn so late in life that he was struggling with it. It was, to be honest, rather stressful.

So now he ran, simply to release everything that he had been keeping inside of himself. It led him, eventually, down a river, and Aindreas followed it, not paying attention to where he was going. Instead, his arctics peered at the ice crystals forming on the side, at the fish that were swimming in the slowly winding waters, and at the pebbles that occasionally rolled with the current. But all of that changed when his form hit something hard and he went tumbling forward, head over tail, his limbs scrambling for traction, but instead landing in a heap. A small growl rose in his throat, annoyed with his own clumsiness, and he rose slowly, shaking his head before swinging his head to see what exactly it was that he had tripped over.

To his surprise... It was a femme...
