Nakato

Together, they play as the day goes on. Nakato throws the fish to the shore and the child smacks them back. For now, the gray wolfess forgets her pass thoughts and fears of Nevermore as the two enjoy their time in the sun. Her mind thinks of pups for a moment, and a thrill fills her heart, but it is gone as fast as it comes. Perhaps one day she will have fun like this with her own pups. Soon, Nevermore begins to tire and her dark form lays on the grass next to the bubbling creek. She is joined by the healer, who lays next to her with a soft smile. In the eerie voice, the princess asks about auras and Nakato takes a moment to think about her answer. Reading auras had been a skill she had learned to master in her long years. Anyone could do it if they trained hard enough and learning about one’s true color could help you learn a lot about them. It was a skill that could be used in the wrong way if given to the wrong wolf and this is the only reason the druid hesitated now. Electric blue eyes gazed down at Nevermore and a seriousness came over her as she spoke. “Everything has a spirit. The trees, the water, and even those fish we were playing with. They are all alive in their own way and each of them has a spirit. Our spirits are all connected and we live together with Mother Nature. She is the one that rules us all and she gives us our colors at birth. If you were to see mine, it would be a pale yellow. When I see you, I see a dark red, like the color of blood. This tells me that you are of noble birth and you are going to grow into a powerful wolfess.” Of course, she didn’t tell her everything about what the color meant. She was too young to fully understand the meaning of her destiny. Let her continue to be a child and she would discover her abilities for herself. “I could teach you how to see the spirit color of other wolves, but only if you promise me something. You will not use it against them. It is not a tool to be abused, but one to help you understand those you meet. Do you promise, Princess Nevermore?” Nakato gazed directly into the youth’s eyes as she waited for her reply. She was not trying to dominate, but she wanted the girl to know just how serious she was. |
