Aplos Riverside
Moladion’s powerful, winding river...

Sure I get to see a lot of beautiful females in Asteraia and out in the free lands but I enver forgot the girl from the crags and how witty she was. Our conversation was entertaining at minimum and I'd like to get to know her more. I didn't even get her name. She doesn't seem to really dislike the way I get closer to her. I can almost feel the electricity buzzing between us, a dangerous zap of lightening that could start a storm at any moment. I like the tingling of my skin and the way my fur feels like it's dancing. She's still goading me, telling me to do a trick and see if the prize is worth it. "Do I at least get a peek? I like a good mystery but doing something for nothing is not my idea of fun." She dares to push, telling me not to let her down so I sigh. "Fine, just a small trick then, to start off." I head toward the riverbank, making my way to the foot of a very large tree. Glancing back at her to make sure she's watching, I coil my back legs and launch upward, using my dull claws to scrabble at the bark until I can get a hold on the lowest hanging branch. I pull myself up after some wobbling, not daring to look back at her now lest I start cheesing all dorky and lose her interest. I know it's not a common practice for wolves to climb trees but I learned as a pup and I've practiced daily to keep my muscles sharp and responding. Muscle memory is a great thing and I think having a high perch is never a bad thing. I can see more and it gives me an advantage if I end up in a tight spot. I've also learned a lot of balance from all the climbing so I hop to a few more branches, bringing myself further up the tree until I get to a branch that extends out over the river. I look down at the rushing water. The currents are strong, colliding against the rocks below with a big wushing sound. I would easily get a concussion and drown if I fell from up here. I don't dare back out now, determination welling up in me as I take a deep breath and make my way out onto the branch. The branch gets more narrow the further out over the water it goes, but I've done stuff like this before so this should be no different, right? I get about halfway out across the branch before I hear the first audible crack. My eyes widen as I glance back. Ah, shit.
