She feels those eyes boring into her, still not daring to lift her gaze from its focus point somewhere approximately on the other wolf’s chest. She still wasn’t sure if her death was imminent or not, but her body remained poised to either run like hell or simply fall over to expose her tender underbelly. The other wolf opens her mouth and Vaya cringes slightly… Then a wave of relief as the other wolf speaks to her. A mountain lion? She made a mental note to stay away from those in the future, the stinging sensation on her tail serving to enforce that note.
Then the wolf is walking towards her and if it were possible she cringes even closer to the ground. Eyes squeeze shut, waiting for the blow she was sure was coming. But the sound of soft steps proceed past her and continue beyond her rear. Hopeful now, the young wolf opens her eyes and glances behind her to see the black wolf signalling her to follow. Flattened ears perk up on her head with optimism. Everyone had a day to die.
Today was not her day.
“Um… Yes?” She manages to leave it at that by practically biting her tongue to keep the babbling to a minimum. Swiftly she swings around and pads after the black wolf, keeping her body posture low but free enough for smooth movement. Carefully she keeps off the black wolf’s hip as she waits to see where the black wolf is taking her.
She’d follow just about anywhere seeing as today she hadn’t died. That was a good thing.
