aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

wolf

~I hope you smile when you look down on me~

The clearing was still filled with wolves as she padded away. Khaleesi and Hellene at the center surrounded by other pack wolves like Magic and Chenzii, who’d suffered the worst wounds of all. She had limped away quietly leaving after the timberess healer gave her poppy and chamomile. The flower hung limply from her maw, the brilliant red poppy hanging on one side and the daisy like chamomile on the other side. The ashen lady knew her basic herbs from her previous healing lesson with Hellene, Khaleesi, and Daenerys… but now only three of the four wolfess’ remained… Dany, had died fighting away the intruders on Aurora’s border and Sebring ached for the loss of a new friend. Dany hadn’t been that old either, of the group her and Hellene were older than either of the other fea’s. And Sebring had still outlived one of them… Her ears drooped and flattened as she walked away, her tail dragging softly in the dirt. Whether it was from a lack of energy or depression, Sebring didn’t really know. She limped in this fashion till she reached the border of Aurora that ran alongside the lake. Her rump dropped to the sandy beach as she stared out into glittering water… the same water that had almost taken her life.

She had not yet attempted to conquer the depths she had almost succumbed to. There was still a residing fear nesting in her heart, a deep wound still healing. If one could have looked into her heart it would have been covered in scars and scar tissue from all the horrid wounds she had received because of the fire. And on top of all of it was the recent discovery of Hocus’ involvement with Kalgalath, or what she assumed had been there. Sebring was jaded and had rose colored vision, she had trust issues on top of her fear of abandonment. And it was meetings and unknown facts like Hocus that twisted Sebring into knots over anything and everything. She could hardly bare to look into the same icy eyes that had she seen seconds after her rescue. It was her overruling and overriding fears that shut out every good memory and act that Kalgalath had done for her. She was shutting down and the intense feeling to run away was starting to edge its way into her conscious. And it would have mostly likely taken her over had the crooning call of her lover not pulled her out of the trance state.

His melodious voice echoed around her and died off quietly. He wanted her to come to him, but where was he? His call had come from a distance and was faint. Her ashen crown turned towards the area from which the call had first echoed from. Rising up in the distance was the cliff side where his den resided. Sebring sighed quietly to herself and rose up the flowers at her paws still begging to be chewed and for the trek she was about to make it would be absolutely necessary to take a few of them before hand. She chewed up the poppy and washed it down with a bit of water before doing the same with the chamomile. She picked up what was left of her supply and turned towards her lovers den.

Her progress was slow. Her steps were unsteady and the terrain was just as unsteady making it impossibly more difficult to trek through the area. When she had first made her way to his den, he had been there with her. He had been able to coax her and carry her when she needed him, but now she was alone. Her pawsteps were the only sound audible to the creatures around her. And she crossed the ravine the river water swept around her legs threatening to sweep her away in the current… Her vocals whined slightly at the tug of water against her recently replaced joint. The pain was ebbing and flowing with the current around her. As Sebring stepped out of the current she collapsed, her legs so tired and worn from the stress of fighting and fatigue of training she had been doing before the border fight. Grey lids closed over honey optics as she lay there splayed out like a rag doll. Her breathing was ragged and harsh, and her mind was flickering in and out of consciousness. She hadn’t gotten a full night’s sleep in what seemed like days. She had been plagued with nightmares of the same black wolf ripping into throat and somehow, somewhere in the background she could hear her father’s horrendous laugh.

Her lover’s den was somewhere just above her. The entrance would have been visible to her standing. But she was not standing. Sebring was splayed out and looking eerily similar to when Kalgalath had first seen her.

"They’re only baby scars," She whispers.
