During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

A Lily No Longer

A M E I R A

She had not made an appearance in public for over a week the first time he struck her. On many wolves, it would be easy to hide bumps, bruises, hits, and scratches, but upon her, they shone through easily. Her pelt was as pure and white as the first snow, and hiding scratches or the blood that had seeped from her wounds was impossible. Her laird’s people had worried about her, for it was historical that the Lily of the Fenris was never ill. The laird had calmed them, saying that she was conversing with the gods. It had been a shocking statement – for though mythology certainly spoke of such abilities, nothing such as that had been witnessed in years… or rather, in many generations. So many such that it was considered myth, legend… but how easily they all believed him! With his looks and his charm, they all believed every word he said… and so it had given him an easy out any time his rage rained down upon Ameira, punishing her for anything from looking at him wrong, to having a single hair out of place at some point when she made an appearance in public. He had spun the perfect backstory. All that was left was to beat upon Ameira each time he felt the need to do so.

The lassie was not at all surprised when the first wolf to arrive was her one – and perhaps only – friend, Horizon. A few minutes after her call had rang out, the kalak had come into her sites, his painted pelt traversing the bleakly flat terrain that seemed to be in all of Munashii Gekko. Ameira smiled softly, and watched as he disappeared into what seemed the only thing left alive in the territory – the thorns that surrounded the odd place that she had claimed to be her throne. They were thriving when everything else in seemed to be dead and dying. When finally he broke through the deadly canopy to reach her, he teased her. ’Lady Ameira, a pleasure to see you again. A peaceful day with cool weather, no better way to start. If I do say so myself.’ She chuckled and turned her lavendars to the sky above. Dark clouds hovered, threatening to let loose a monsoon or a vicious snow storm at any minute. A wind blew through her pelt, chilling her, but she shook, rearranging her pelt. Winter was nearly half over – it would not be too much longer before spring returned once more.

Next to arrive was a wolf that she did not know. Ameira saw her coming, and had time to study her. She was a gray wolf, which was common enough, but she had the strangest markings upon her face. She, just like Ameira and Horizon before her, had snuck through the thorns to reach the raised hill. Once peaking, she spoke, and Ameira’s smile faded to a cold stare. ‘Well hello there. Quite horrible party you’re throwing here.’ Ameira was peaceful and held the stance that a true leader did not need to demand respect… but for such words to fall from a wolf seeking sanctuary was unheard of. Ameira’s lips rose slightly as she stared at the stranger who spoke so rudely to her. ‘The name’s Storm. I’m guessing you’re the Queen.’ The alien sneered at her and Ameira nodded. “You would be guessing correctly, Storm. I am Ameira, the newly crowned Alphess of this pack. What is your business here, coming before me on my throne?” Ameira waited for her to respond before judging the ess one way or the other. If she were wishing to challenge for the pack, Ameira would be her at the battle grounds. But if, instead, she were wishing merely to join, Ameira would require her to submit fully. If she was to trust her enough to be a member in the pack, Storm would need to position herself in the most vulnerable of states.

The next to arrive was yet another stranger, this one painted just as Ameira herself was, save for the fact that his orbs were of a color a bit more natural. Instead of her odd lavendars, he instead peered at the world through slates. He grinned, as the previous varg had, but different words escaped from between his lips. ‘I’m actually the Queen.

…now that was amusing. Ameira’s brows raised and the tips of her lips curled upward into a smile. “Oh, what have I been doing, keeping your seat warm, my lady?” The wolfess chuckled as she watched him wink at the opposing stranger. ‘Seeing as you all know that I am nothing close to a regale, that I am instead a wanderer, and a lonely one at that, I seek admission into your pack with the utmost sincerity and the promise to never assume your title again. In any case, I do not think I look nearly feminine enough to pull it off.’ Ameira cocked her head to the side. “No, perhaps not. I do not think you have quite the right equipment for such a title. May I have your title? My own is Ameira – the actual Queen here as you rightly assumed.” She smiled at him before turning her head to the others. “I welcome you all and thank you for replying to my call. Should you wish to join, I do request that you submit formally.” They perhaps did not know Ameira well, but from where she was, everything was done traditionally.

OOC – Alesana heads up – forest is still dead haha it is winter and it has not regrown at all yet it will not until spring XD
