Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Somehow, he always ended up back here. It seemed that the fields were the young male's beginning and ending point on each circuit he made of Moladion. The routine of his movements was his only solace in the past year since Fiammetta had disappeared. There were times, when he moved along the northern periphery of Moladion, that he considered leaving. Going beyond the bounds of the world he knew, for it was becoming despairingly obvious that he would not find what he was looking for here. Fiammetta. Paravana. Someone could have taken them, stolen them away beyond his reach. But deep down, some part of him knew Fiammetta had gone of her own accord, and that if he ever saw her again it would be on her terms. As for his sister, he could never be sure, and the task to find her was one that weighed heavily on his heart.

Perhaps it was the gentle tug on the strings of his soul that always brought him back south to rest, his relative closeness to Bellatrix providing him with something akin to contentment. It was a balm to the ache in his breast - a feeling of failure that welled greater within him each passing day. And yet, as he came to lay in the shadow of a bolder that had once served as his meeting point with Emil when he had still partaken in the search, he gazed out and across the vast fields towards Diveen. The sight of his birth lands always instilled a feeling of purpose within him, drove him to carry on even though it had been nearly two years of searching already with no result. His ears pivoted backwards in dismay, wondering if he would encounter a member of his family during this stay, as he had his aunt Solara once before. No one seemed to be able to catch sight or smell of Paravana. It was as if his sister had vanished off the face of the earth. But he wouldn't give up, couldn't until he had some shred of knowledge about what had happened to her.

The rustling of parting grass caused a single coal audit to swivel atop Atlas' skull, listening to foreign paw steps grow closer to his location. But the wolf did not approach, and so the young male leaned forward, gazing around the edge of the boulder curiously. Pale yellow eyes watched the silver grey form of an unfamiliar male emerge from the taller grasses to the south, and his ears cupped forward with interest as he spoke to another wolf that at first Atlas could not see. But as the male peeled away from her and made his way towards the lake, his russet lined eyes did not follow. Instead, they were fixated upon the tall, dark brown female that stepped forward in his wake. At first he simply watched out of curiosity as her head inclines to look up at the sky, the barest itches of familiarity causing him to creep forward a little more. It was only when she dropped her head and he caught a glimpse of her technicolor eyes. "Paravana?" he whispered, quietly, to himself.

And then she turned to follow the male, the beautiful golden tan that coated her back highlighted in the sun. Atlas felt his heart jump into his throat, disbelief and shock consuming him and for a moment he simply watched her. She was not the gangly teenager he'd last seen in Diveen; but then again, neither was he. His sister had grown into her height, filling out in beautiful form - though it could hardly come as a surprise given their lineage. Suddenly Atlas was scrambling in the sand, dashing to his paws before launching headlong across the beach towards her. "Paravana!" he called, half bark half jubilated cry. He rushed towards her, coming between her and the lake - and the male that he had all but forgotten about in this moment, mouth agape as he looked upon his sister for the first time in two years. He was dumbfounded, incredulous that after all this time she would simply walk out into the fields he so often frequented. Unharmed, whole, and healthy so far as he could tell. He could not find words, wanting to hear the lyrical tones of her voice to confirm that his was reality and not a figment of his imagination.
