News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

He had walked past her rejection, despite her claims he was not strong enough, despite how she postured and snarled. His victory was taken and with only respect paid to her strength, alongside a defense of knowing his own capability. He knew was at least her equal, whatever she would say in anger and hurt pride. His success was not meant to be a besmirchment on her honor or her confidence. It was only a means to obtain safety for him and his own amongst those who also already resided in the mountains, providing him the guarantee he would not be turned away or have his family turned away. He held no hostility against the female who wished only to protect what had been built in the mountains here. He certainly held no hostility for those who had worked so hard to obtain their places in the pack they called home.

He finished the circuit around Spirane, re-marking what belonged now to him, as he limped for the pain burning up his shoulder where her fangs had caught him in her first attack. There is bruising, punctures, and he knows he has dribbled blood beside his marks and around his new borders. His cheek feels wet, his hind legs arguing with him despite how the borders of Spirane were actually at the foot of the mountains and even somewhat into the flats surrounding it. Susil Crags was neighbor to him now, and he finds himself glad. It was beautiful, for all that it was not a part of his newly gotten home.

On the end of his circuit, he turns inwards. His hind end is not so easily convinced of being okay as he had initially thought, but he can still grunt through it to climb up to where he would make himself known to the people of Spirane, the real heartblood of a pack. The way is long, but he pushes through it, if only because of the parting words of the she-wolf he had left at the borders. He manages, though he cannot say he is not wearied, to weave himself between crag and tree and brush in order to find the centermost place in the pack land.

A deep, rich, howl rises up - one that claims and calls in one note - and spreads across Spirane. It is a beautiful land and he relishes the echoes of his call coming back to him from off the mountains, as though greeting him with a summon of their own. He does not sit, for all that he wishes he could, but stands proud and atop a small rise so that he can see more. He prepares for the potential hate, and potential curiosity of those who would come. Some may choose to leave without words, but at least he knows his howl is welcoming, open to the world as he intended this haven to be. He wants those who hear it to know that there is no usurper come to drive them out - only a new leader to run before them in hunts, beside them into battle, and all around them in play.

Then a second call, one to Morrigan and Peregrine, the two for whom he most earnestly fought. Morrigan, to give her a place to put all that ambition and verve. Peregrine, to provide her protection and a place where she could grow stronger and faster. And finally, a last call seeking - searching for the gypsy leader and the golden woman with her ashen brother. The brother, Roman knew, had taken shelter in the neighboring pack - what he hadn’t realized was that they were both obtained by another pack through theft. He would find them soon, retrieve them too if he had any say, and now he is ready, waiting, for those who would stay in the bosom of their mountains.
