Morrigan was not as thrilled with the sand as Taika was. She didn't like the way it clung to her paws, or the way that the humid sea air seemed to attach itself to her coat. She felt like she would be grooming sand and sea spray out of her pelt for a whole season. However, the annoyances of the beach were overshadowed by the fact that she was hot on the trail of Coquette and Quixote, and that much closer to obtaining her rightful place by Roman's side. It was exciting to think that out of everyone, he had picked her for this prestigious position, but really, was there anyone better equipped? She was as intelligent as anything, skilled in her art, and they were closer than most could say.
As Taika tilted her head back in greeting, Morrigan also let loose a call of her own, for Eden and for the two lost siblings that they had spent so much time tracking down. The assassin could only hope that they could strike some sort of deal to retrieve the pair, and that they wouldn't be turned away immediately. It was possible that Eden, or whoever had stolen them, had done so for a purpose. Perhaps they would not be easily returned, safe, to Spirane. She glanced at her companion, who seemed to be visibly excited by the sight of the sand and the sea, and smiled. Her absolute joyousness for life and all that came with it was infectious. |
