Life was not dull here within the fields. There was much she had to do and she didn’t have enough time during the day to do it all. Yet she managed it all. Cuirass needed to continue his training and she was proud to see he was becoming a fine warrior. Galileo and Anima were doing superb with their specialty and she was thinking what sort of new rank the two deserved within the pack, they had done so well, and they needed to be rewarded for their efforts. Nakato had grown quite quiet lately, but she had caught wind of two new scents in the direction of her den and they matched the scents that been with Tobias, evidence that there was new life...new life she needed to meet. Psyche was brought back to live here and she hoped the multi-colored wolf was settling in. Tick Tock was pleased to see that Tobias and Flare’s children were doing quite well and she made sure to visit them and bring them food when she found them in their den. She knew they could fend for themselves, but when they lived with her during the Fall and Winter of her first year in ownership of Asteraia, she felt inclined to care and watch over them as if they were her own. However, her attention had greater focus on her own shadowy children, proud to see her son be so very inquisitive and blunt, while her unique daughter continued to surprise her with those subtle bursts of sanity that was rare to see. Like any Mother she wanted what was best for them and she would continue to nurture and care for them in a way that was meant for them.
It was the beginning of summer and the Monster couldn’t help, but be satisfied. She was entering her second year of leading the pack that dwelled within the grassy lowlands. Many things have changed for the pack, and it was all for the better, not just for herself, but for them. The pack was beginning to slowly grow with numbers. It was not quantity the Alpha was concerned about, but the quality of each wolf and what they could bring to the pack. Within the fields were wolves that craved wolf flesh and those that did not. The sanctuary she had built for herself and Tobias transformed into a home, now that Tick Tock grew adaptable and understood her responsibility as Alpha. The beautiful warm and sunny day was slowly coming to a close. The bright azure sky was slowly shifting to a violet shade and then an orange and reddish hue. After her patrol along one of the borders she managed to bring her ebony and grey pelted form near the river that trickled in front of their lair.
Dark paws pressed gently into the damp bank of the river as she lowered her dial to take a drink, satisfying her thirst after her long trek. With a gentle zephyr pulling and tugging through her thick dark fur it brought a promise that this night would be cool. Lifting her ebony crown away from the river, her back turned from the den she shared with her companion and his mate, she looked upwards towards the dark blue sky, as the last rays of the sun disappeared and traces of stars began to appear. Her mind began to turn and mold into a sort of reflection as the Monster silently pondered. All her life she had been alone, sometimes barely surviving out there on her own, but now as she slowly begins to transition into her later years, she cannot help but feel spite at Fate. Why now, at this time, did things have to fall into place for her? She had children, a home, and now an imprint? She was sure she would not find a wolf that would reciprocate any love for herself, especially when she had such feelings for her companion, but she knew he wouldn’t return that at all. The Monster was bound to the True Demon of Moladion and she was pleased that Fate had given her a second chance to be attached to a strong creature such as him. Dark sapphire eyes with violet flecks continued to stare upwards into the night sky as more thoughts began to seep into her mind, like the list of tasks she would need to accomplish tomorrow, any deep thought of desires for herself, disappeared.
