At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

Kalgalath had been all set up and ready to take one hell of a long nap. For the first time since winter had struck, his pelt was clean, and he had a sky that was clear above his head. The gentle hum of the cascades served as white noise, or perhaps more accurately as a lullaby. But best of all was the sun, whose bright Rays were raining down upon him as downpours had the previous few days, heating him as a blanket would. All in all, he found himself to be completely and fully comfortable, without a single care in the world and devoid of any worries that would give him insomnia or rob him of sleep., granting him nightmares instead. He had just started to feel the tendrils of slumber creep into his mind. Slivers of dreams began to slip through, glimpses of the dream world which so closely resembled his own. Images of his family, glimpses of the boys grown up, a time in which he and Sebring could retire, living their days out comfortably within the borders of Aurora Borealis, yes, but under their sons' care. But then he was sharply awoken when something struck him upon his head. It was not particularly hard, per say, but felt like a slap. Moistness slipped across his face, a sudden cold, and just then his nares flared and he picked up on his least favorite of scents, the single one that he hated - fish.

Inwardly, he groaned, but it soon became audible he he heard a splash that quickly was followed by a splash of water upon his face, shaking any remaining slumber from his head. It was possible, perhaps, that the fish had leapt off the edge of the cascade, falling to the rocks below. Perhaps the fish was suicidal, or miscalculated the power needed for whichever stroke he had been making. But what moved Kalgalath away from such thoughts was that when the fish had struck his face, it had not moved against his skin, not so much as even a single muscle twitch. No, it had been a lifeless body that had struck him, meaning that either it had died prematurely - which was highly unlikely - or else it had been meant to be someone's meal.

A soft growl grew in his chest, annoyed that he had been awoken from his siesta by another's inability to hold onto their meal. Quickly, he rolled over, righting himself before rising to his paws. Kal swept one of his paws into the water, scooping out the fish that had assaulted him, sending its form onto the rocks that lined the cascades. Though he hated it himself, it obviously had been killed for a reason, and it would be both a shame and a sin to waste a meal that had already been killed. Only then did he tilt his cranium upwards, his arctics searching the balcony above until finally they upon a form, a looming brute overhead. But then, his orbs widened in shock. Perhaps his sight was deceiving him... But no. There was no mistaking it - the brute was colored in a true red paint, the mark of an old, old bloodline. It was rare yet to see one, and Kalgalath had ever only met one, years ago before Kong had disappeared.

"Blood Titan?"

Though he despised the taste within his mouth, Kalgalath lowered his muzzle and opened his jaws in order to grasp the fish with his pearls. TheThe slime and blood that seeped onto his tongue nearly had him gagging, but he clenched his abdominal strain, fighting off the ever growing nausea. The only time that he ever willing ate fish was on the rare occasion when Sebring caught it - somehow the face that she had caught it made it stand able, but always the taste would linger in his maw for hours, the scent in his nares for days. And now he feared that it would remain as that, but if this was indeed Titan, then he should at least have a 'welcome back to Blossom Forest' gift, and his dropped meal seemed as good as anything. Kalgalath shook his head - how many wolves had been returning to Blossom Forest recently was shocking and amazing. Carefully placed paws elevated him, allowed him to ascend even higher up the waterfall. It was rare for Klgalath to go to the higher stages, for the one that he had been on was his preferred one. But when finally he was upon the same level as the brute he threw the trout upon the earth at the brute's feet. "It's been a long time, Titan. Where is Akina?"
