Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

But it’s always there;;

The kalak was still in shock about what had happened with her father and the stranger that she now knew as Horizon. When she had left Cold Summers with her father she did not think that anything like this would have happened. The femme had always trusted Akuji, had always thought that he understood her in ways that no one else did and that he wanted what was best for her. But it was clear now that this was not the case. She knew of some of her father’s past, knew a little bit about the pack that he had been able to escape from years ago. It had sounded like a terrible place where each varg was forced into deeds that they did not want to commit and their fate was chosen for them. Akuji had gone mad there, like any wolf would, and luckily he had been able to escape. Shasta had always thought after that that he would never want to try and force anyone to do something that they did not want to do, that he would understand first-hand what that was like. But then when she had gone out with the male to visit another pack, he had done just that to her. Telling her that he had found a mate for her, as if she could not be trusted to be on her own. She didn’t understand why he thought that she needed to be looked after someone else. She thought she had always done enough to prove herself to him, but clearly she had let him down at some point and he thought that she needed to be babysat.

But the kalak knew that this was not the case. Shasta knew that she would be fine on her own. She knew that her father’s original pack was still out there, and they would always be a threat, but she was not afraid of them. They probably didn’t even know that she existed, and she was perfectly okay with that. The female had always had a short temper, always quick to anger, but this was different. She had never been so furious before. She felt as if she could kill her father, how dare he try and do this to her. If it was not for Horizon’s reaction, then she may have gone after him, but it did not seem that he had wanted this to happen. He seemed genuinely uncomfortable and awkward, and not that he was faking it for her sake. Why Akuji had come up with this scheme, especially with this supposed mate not being on board, was still unknown to her. Adrenaline had boiled in her veins, her whole body on edge and ready for a fight. It had not come to actual violence though, just harsh words and hurt feelings. But when Akuji had lashed out at the other male, Shasta could not stand there and let her father be so cruel, and she found herself defending this stranger.

When Akuji had stormed off, as if it was Shasta who was being unreasonable and not him, she had forced herself to calm down. Anger would accomplish nothing now except her doing something stupid that she would end up regretting. Somehow she had managed to calm down, forcing her body to relax and her fur to flatten back to its normal orientation. Then she had explored a small portion of Munashii Gekko ith Horizon, apologizing to him for both her behavior and for her father’s. Luckily the male was understanding and he was not upset with her. She did feel bad still though for what her father had said to him, especially since it had seemed to upset the other male. Shasta was not used to her father being as cruel as he had been today, and it was still shocking to her that it had all happened this way. At first she felt okay being with Horizon, brushing of the anger and stress that she had just felt, being polite with the male and trying to make small talk. As she asked him about his pack, he made a comment that for some reason, made her feel different. He said it was lonely here, and she too had felt that even though she always had her father. It was a different kind of loneliness, one that she had tried to ignore and act as if it was not occurring. But when Horizon said it would be nice if she had stayed and kept him company, she did just the opposite.

A weird panicky feeling filled Shasta. She had never been around others for very long, other than Akuji. She had grown to rely on his company so much that the thought of company with another being felt weird and foreign, and oddly intimidating. She didn’t know how to respond to him, or how to act, or how to do anything really. Now that she thought about it, Horizon was one of the first vargs that she had encountered. She did not mingle much, even with those in her own pack. So how was she supposed to know what to do right now? With this handsome male that actually seemed nice. It was intimidating. So, instead of answering him, she just gave him a slightly panicked look with her chocolate brown orbs and turned and ran from him, not saying a word. Her stilts flew through the trees, her black stained paws went as fast as they could carry her. She had no destination in mind and just tried to run, not just from Horizon but her confused and panicked thoughts and feelings. Akuji was not the lovey dovey type, and Shasta had always liked that. But whenever she had any type of real emotions or anything along those lines, she bottled them up and didn’t address them. And now it seemed like her whole world was coming crashing down around her. What was she supposed to do when she felt so alone without her dad?

When the female had worn herself out, running frantically through the terra of Blossom, out of breath and panting heavily, she slowed her pace. Her stilts now felt heavy, and it was hard for her to move forward. Brown orbs looked around, trying to see where she had ended up. She spotted the cliffs and mountains that seemed to reach all the way up to the sky. If she was not exhausted, both mentally and physically, she would have tried to explore more and climb them, but she did not have the energy for that. She spotted an overhanging of rock that created a large amount of shade. She forced her body forward, collapsing to the ground with the protection of the rock. She laid her head upon her paws, closing her lids as she tried to shut her mind off.

Talking
hearing you words
my thoughts
I walk on
