aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

It was a pleasant conversation really, and though the two had not really learned anything about one another, it had be a reconnection. They had found and another amiable, to be sure and no longer were they caught up in the awkwardness of the love triangle. Neither Akina nor Kong had been present, and it had just been them - two vargs enjoying nature who happened upon one another. Blood Titan had agreed with Kalgalath's sentiment - that Blossom Forest always called them home, no matter how long they were gone. He had seen, too, the subtle change in expression when Kalgalath had mentioned his new mate, but had been polite and had not questioned Kal about it - instead promising a future meeting between the four of them - Kal, Titan, Sebring, and Akina. Should that ever happen, and should they happen to grow close, perhaps even become friends, Kalgalath would tell him the tale in full, about Zig's betrayal and the events that both precluded it and came afterward. It would be painful, but it had been a key event in his life that had helped shape who he was now... Those he was close to in his pack had lived through it, and he had told Sebring about it. Each time it was told, it hurt a bit less, marking the progression of time, the healing of wounds. Just having Sebring in his life had dulled the pain, for she had more than replaced the spot in his heart that Zig had once occupied.

Perhaps, had they been able to start and chat longer, they would have even planned such a meeting, but there were complications. First, the fact that the two likely needed time to process the meeting in the first place. They had been at very different spots in their life the last time that they were here - Kalgalath had had his loyalties to Kong and needed to support his best friend and how his heart was feeling - mainly, his love for Akina. Blood Titan, too, had been in love with Akina, and so the awkwardness had been being stuck between a rock and a hard place. How do you encourage your fiend to court a femme who was in a relationship with another... And how do you continue your relationship with a femme who clearly also had feelings for another? In addition to this need to process the situation, Titan needed to find Akina first, and then there was the matter of the rain. It had started as a few small drops, falling on their pelt so softly neither noticed them, but then it had increased in both speed and volume until Titan had called the meeting to a closure before running off to find sanctuary. Kalgalath had agreed after turning his his arctics to the sky which normally mirrored his gaze, but now was an icy steel that told of the coming monsoon, perhaps to even be associated with bolts of lightning - it was going to be a bad one. Kalgalath certainly had no desire to be caught in it and so had started toward home, but had had to take refuge in a grove of trees when the floodgates had broken, releasing the storm in full. It was amazing, that just this morning he had let his pups go to explore and then met with Gwaine... And now had come upon Titan. What more did the day have to bring to him?

As soon as the storm let up, he took off like a bat out of hell, hoping to get to spend a few hours alone with Sebring before the pups returned to the den once the evening came, for they had been told to return before darkness fell. It was early afternoon, but he had a decent trek to get home, and so it was nearly five by the time he reached home, exhausted from his run but happy to be back. Before slipping over the boundary, he entered the stream that ran before him and cleansed his pelt of the mud and dirt that he had collected on his run, a mix of his paw kicking up the soil and simply running through pools of mud. The water was cool and felt refreshing on his warm skin. Exiting,he shook his pelt out, droplets going flying, before he continued on his way at a gentle trot, following the scent of his mate until he came upon a scene he had not expected: his mate and his pups greeting a pair of Ethiopian femme's. Moving to Sebring's side, he nuzzled her, his wet hairs sticking to hers, before he turned to face the stranger. "And I am the last member of this family, you can call me Kalgalath." He fell silent and waited to hear their reasons for being at the border.
