LIKE A WALK IN THE PARK, LIKE A HOLE IN YOUR HEAD
Pawsteps drummed relentlessly on the ground as she ran, wildly, towards her home. The only thing that she could focus on was the steady, though elevated, beat of her heart. She had ran all the way from Taviora, perhaps a mistake on her part, but she couldn't have stuck around. She hadn't known what to do, what to say and she certainly hadn't wanted to be incriminated. Ehiyeh felt as though she was drowning without a line, and there was nothing that she could do to remove that feeling. Things would be different in her head now, all she wanted to do was hide in her den and never leave it. Her trophies would rot around her with nothing to replace them, but hadn't see always been surrounded by death and decay?
It was strange to know that the wolf she had poisoned could very well be dead. It was strange, and beyond upsetting. Ehiyeh couldn't believe that she had made such a mistake, that she had played with someone's life. Even though it had been a complete accident she couldn't help the guilt eating away at her from the inside out. Dead, he must be, and yet the girl held out some hope that after she had run someone had come to help him. It was a foolish belief, because he was too weak to howl- and suddenly the girl realized that she was now a murderer. She had never wanted this. But the wolves of his pack, they would surely not believe her, as peculiar as her method of hunting was. Mentally cursing herself for being so thoughtless, she finally felt the familiar sand under her paws and realized that she was back home.
Yet Ehiyeh did not stop running. She ran blindly, not even heading towards her den, simply wanting to get away as fast as she could. Her lungs were burning, and her paws ached, but yet she did not stop. Unbeknownst to her she was approaching her father's den, and hardly recognizing it she ran right past it, making quite the commotion. She could hardly think and although it would have behooved her to be silent her only thought was getting away. Away from the scene of the crime she had committed by complete accident.
He was dead he must be yet she hung onto a childish hope that he would be fine and she would not be pursued. The alpha of Taviora- Ehiyeh couldn't believe her bad luck. Any wolf would give her the same emotion but she was worried that whoever found him would follow her scent and then Glorall would be implicated in an assassination attempt. Her ears flicked backwards to catch the sound of pawsteps behind her. Someone must be following her- and she pushed herself, to run faster, trying to lose them. Ehiyeh did not look back to check and see who it was, but given what she had done, she had only guessed it was someone coming to repay the favor.
