Very little care was given to the still large pile of meat and guts that were under his feet. Thoth did not care about the carcass of a deer he could not hope to move on his own. The wolf in front of him had been oh so kind enough to tear off the leg of the best. Now he just needed to let go of it.
Tychon lifted his paw after Thoth’s teeth had made contact. The puppy only bared his teeth further at the retreating appendage. He could not growl of laugh his victorious glee. Nor could he warn the paw away from his rightfully stolen prize. Instead he continued to bristle and bare his weapons. Floppy ears were as pinned to his neck as they could. His eyes were narrowed as he warned the paw to keep away. They widened just in the second the paw came falling back down and easily swiped him off the carcass. Flailing around on the ground the graceless pup struggled back to his paws. Immediately he raced back at Tychon. Teeth were snapping audibly as he ran. No other warning came from the pup as he launched himself at the bigger, stronger, wolf. All he could reach was Tychon’s paws and ankles. But if Thoth was anything at the time he was an ankle assailant.Bite after bite after bite he snapped his head towards any part of Tychon that got in the way. With any ground he got (if he got any) he defended with as though his life depended on it.
Changing tactic in a second he twisted to sink his teeth into the leg of the deer. Big paws scrambled frantically in reverse to pull the meat away from the growling wolf as quickly as he could.
