Things were going well. At least she thought it was. She was slowly relaxing and somewhat enjoying her walk through the woods. Slowly she was feeling better and better. Her paw steps became more sure, her body less crunched up in fear. The faint creamy-grey girl was enjoying herself. Slowly the tension was fading from her darker grey sides, and white legs and slowly a smile began to appear on her heart masked face. The fairies seemed to be improving in their too.

They were bobbing about around her with the snow, like they were dancing. Her tail waved behind her, body loosening up slowly as she truly began to enjoy the freedom. No wonder Masque ran off so often! It was nice to be alone and trot through the unknown and see other things. She trotted through the snow bright pinkish-red eyes running around the area taking everything in with a new appreciation. She didn’t even pause to think of the danger or the large scars on her back hips that signaled the true terrors of the world. For the first time since she was very small and still very innocent she felt… relaxed. Happy. That was until something came flying from nowhere and crashing into her.

Her fear immediately returned, a shrieking cry coming from her maw. Just as quickly as it all happened the dancing fairies disappeared and the world was dark and terrifying. Soma kicked and pushed away from her attacker. ”Don’t hurt me! Don’t hurt me!” She didn’t even hear the apology. Quickly her mind was blanketed in a cloud of fear unable to really register very fast that, while bigger, the thing that crashed into her was also a child.

Her breathing was fast and clearly panicked she didn’t know who he was or what he wanted. Her brief moment of happiness was forgotten by the pain in her sides and hips from where he had plowed into her. Clearly it was attack, just like the one that had just as randomly sprung up against her mother.

”Wh-what do you want?” She shot shakily at him, her red eyes dashing around for an escape like a cornered rabbit. She spotted the small carcass not far away. ”Is it food? Is food what you want? I know where lots of food is! Y-you don’t have to eat me!” Soma was doing whatever she could to help herself, she could see he wasn’t perfectly well fed and taken care of as she was. For all she knew he was one of those crazy cannibals and that was another pup’s body he had. It wasn’t out of the realm of the possible not in the heavily fear stricken mind of the girl.
