News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Moonfeather

Her timing, it would seem, had been quite impeccable. Perhaps it had been simple chance, and yet maybe it had been intuition of some sort that brought Moonfeather to the mouth of Niviaq's den mere moments before the elder healer returned rejuvenated from a meal and ready to ease her body during a lesson with her young pupil. The mere sight of Niviaq brought a broad smile to Moonfeather's visage, her tail unabashedly thumping against the ground as she arrived before her. The woman had become something of a motherly figure for Moonfeather to look up to in the many months since her own mom had taken leave of the mountain. She missed Malina greatly, but she did not begrudge her mother for having gone when she did. Many had left when Daenerys had been unseated, and though quite a few had returned since she had ascended to power once more, Malina had not been among them. Yet, just as Moonfeather wished Israfel well on his wandering path, she hoped that her mother was doing that which made her happiest. In her own life, the learning of how to aid those in need was what brought the girl happiness, and Niviaq was the source of such teachings. That they would form a bond and Moonfeather would feel close to her mentor was perhaps something to be expected.

Moonfeather laughed lightly when Niviaq motioned towards Kutcha, and her turquoise gaze lifted to look at the bird. He had gained a quick appreciation for his charge's mentor, approving of her much quicker than he tended to give such ascension to new wolves in Moonfeather's life. He fluffed out his feathers when the two shewolves looked in his direction, and then set to preening himself when their conversation turned back to one another. Niviaq's words struck Moonfeather as interesting, especially given one of the things she had been considering asking the elder shewolf about today. Her dark tail wrapped around her much lighter paws and smiled to herself, glancing once more to her raven companion as Niviaq situated herself. When Niviaq did not immediately move into a lesson, she thought to herself that perhaps it was a chance to bring up the subject.

Meeting her mentor's gaze once more, her smile softened into something more akin to that which Niviaq so often displayed. "I had a dream, and I am not quite sure what it means," she began. From her earliest days Moonfeather had always thought that dreams were something important, that your mind or the spirits of the world were trying to convey things of importance through them. Maybe not every dream - after all how much could one glean from a dream of chasing butterflies? But this dream, it had both weighed heavily upon the young girl and yet somehow lifted her up and made her feel lighter. "I was in a huge cave - but not a normal cave. It was like I was surrounded by ice, a very unique cave...I'm not sure. But there were herbs and plants and materials of all kinds around me. Or, well, I guess it wasn't me. I thought it was at first but then - she had violet eyes, and it wasn't Kutcha there with me, it was Orba. Do...do you think I was just making things up in my mind because I want to know her so much, or do you think maybe it could have meant something more?" She realized she had been carrying on quite a bit and paused. "Did you ever hear of such of place? I just can't help but wonder if it is - or was - real." She fell quiet then, looking upon Niviaq hopefully. She hadn't told anyone about the dream - well, except Kutcha of course. And while the girl was keen to learn whatever lesson Niviaq might have in store for her about the healing arts, she thought that maybe this was important too.
