Wandering paw steps brought the girl into the darkness of the cavernous bowls of the grotto. It was a familiar darkness, a place she had been before and would be again, but she did not necessarily recognize her surroundings. Though her paws had walked these caverns before, Raum did not recall them as such. She did remember, however, the other perfect one she'd met here. Perhaps that was where perfection dwelled - within the darkness so alike to their fur. A sound as close to purring that a wolf could make rumbled forth from the girl as she made her way deeper into the network of caves. The thought to fear losing her way never occurred to her. Raum just continued on her way, purpose in her stride though she had no true destination.
It was the reflection of dull light off the surface of water that caught her attention, causing her to veer off her path and to the pool's edge. There was a fissure in the rock that allowed just the barest amount of light into the cavern, that same fissure by which water surely leaked into the cavern. Black paws came to the edge of the pool and the girl leaned forward, green eyes wide as they searched the murky depths. The flash of movement under the water's surface filled Raum with glee.
"Stay, stay! No, stay! Am friend!" Her butt wriggled back and forth, black banner swaying above her as her paws stepped into the shallows. Only the rims of her poisonous green irises were visible, the black pupils blown wide in the dim light. Searching, searching, searching the gloomy waters that now barely moved around the front limbs that were submerged halfway into the pond.
"Come back?! Am friend!" she cried softly at the surface of the water.
"You can't change your nature. Some fear you. Not me! Some loathe you. Nobody likes you. That's just the way it is!"
